Morry Frenkel speaks with Noa Gomberg, the youngest of 36 women who contributed to the collection, “Ruptured - Jewish Women in Australia Reflect on Life Post-October 7” (eds. Lee Kofman & Tamar Paluch; pub. The Lamm Jewish Library of Australia). Noa, a high school student, talks about her essay, The End of Ignorance, which describes her alienation from the queer community following the horrors of October 7 and her resolution of feeling a pressure to choose between the Jewish community on the one hand and the queer community on the other. She also describes the false perception of some in the Jewish community who now inextricably link queerness with antisemitism. “Ruptured - Jewish Women in Australia Reflect on Life Post-October 7” can be purchased through the Jewish Museum of Australia, Dymocks and via online booksellers.
