These are the steps I will use to help me
Steps to Healing:
"First, know that it’s okay to ask for help. Talk about your feelings with someone you trust. Second, focus on small joys—exercise, art, or socializing. Your emotions don’t define you; how you respond to them does.
"Now that we understand how emotions can hold us hostage, let’s talk about ways to break free:
Awareness and Mindfulness: Recognize your emotions as they arise. Instead of reacting immediately, take a moment to observe them. Ask yourself: What am I feeling, and why?
Acceptance—Instead of suppressing emotions, allow yourself to feel them. It’s okay to be sad, angry, or anxious. The key is not to stay stuck in that emotion.
Reframe Your Thoughts: Instead of thinking, ‘I’m overwhelmed,’ try, ‘I’m feeling overwhelmed, and that’s okay. What small step can I take right now?’ Challenge negative thoughts. Instead of thinking, I’ll fail if I try, shift to Even if I fail, I’ll learn something valuable.
Action Steps: Don’t wait until you “feel ready.” Take small steps toward what scares you. This will build your confidence.
Self-Compassion: Treat yourself like a good friend. Instead of saying I’m not good enough, remind yourself that I’m doing my best, and that’s enough.
Healthy Outlets: Whether journaling, exercising, or talking to a friend, find a way to express your emotions constructively.
Seek Professional Help: Sometimes, talking to a therapist or counselor can provide the tools and support you need to manage your emotions and release their power over you.
