The word NEUROQUEER goes beyond the intersection of neurodiversity and queerness. Neuroqueering is the practice of queering (subverting, defying, disrupting, liberating oneself from) neuronormativity and heteronormativity simultaneously. Through the lens of the neurodiversity paradigm and the social model and in conversations with neurodiversity-affirming professionals, we are going to challenge, rethink, and reframe systems and institutions. What I love about neuroqueering is that it is also about being in our pleasure, tapping into our curiosity and creativity. This podcast is hosted by Pasha Marlowe (she/her), MFT, Neuroqueer/AuDHD Coach, queer autistic and adhd woman, mama bear to 3, and someone who gets instantly bored if she's not a little scared.© 2023 Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness 個人的成功 心理学 心理学・心の健康 社会科学 科学 自己啓発 衛生・健康的な生活

  • Ep #100: "The Future of Work is Neuroinclusion and Accessibility" with Jamie Shields
    2024/02/13

I am celebrating my 100th podcast episode (Neuroqueering and Let Pleasure Be the Measure combined) with one of my new favorite people and the inspiration for my future work as I lean into creating cultures of neuroinclusion and accessibility. All the way from northern Ireland, welcome Jamie Shields!

Jamie Shields is a registered blind AuDHD speaker, trainer, and consultant, who works with individuals and brands, helping them make inclusive accessible change. He is also the creator of Disabled by Society.

Jamie and I talk about DEIB, including the concept of neurobelonging, an internal sense of belonging and self-acceptance.

I ask "How do we get leaders of organizations to care about disability and accessibility before it is their own lived experience?" This leads to an important conversation about power, privilege, anger, ableism, discrimination, neurodiversity, and the importance of inclusive language.

  • #33: "IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy effectiveness for neurodivergent minds"
    2024/01/30

In today's "Neuroqueering" podcast, Ellie Carn (she/they), psychotherapist, and host Pasha Marlowe (she/they), marriage and family therapist and coach, explain what IFS (Internal Family Systems/"parts" work) is and why it is so effective for neurodivergent minds, especially those with ADHD and autism. Ellie begins with an overview and history of IFS then describes what the therapeutic process of parts work looks like.

Ellie shares how traditional therapy models are often pathologizing and ableist, whereas, IFS is beneficial for neurodivergent people as it is empowering, playful, guided by the client, and creates space to "meet clients where they are at". Ellie even ponders if "parts work" is, in essence, unmasking. Pasha and Ellie conclude by encouraging listeners to try many different therapists and therapy modalities.

  • Ep. #32 "Building Psychological Safety Nets at Work"
    2024/01/16

In psychologically safe workplaces, people feel safe voicing their opinions about conflict and mistakes-without the fear of negative consequences. Leaders need to be brave-brave enough to invite open and honest feedback. Leaders need to hear what’s really going on, so dysfunctional and unhealthy patterns can be interrupted and problems can be solved.

But only when the most vulnerable team members, those with the most intersecting marginalized identities, feel free enough to express their thoughts and feelings, is an organization psychologically safe enough for everyone to thrive.

In this episode, Pasha talks about the cultural transformation that occurs when you intend to create psychologically safe spaces. She also talks about the term "safe space" and how we can never guarantee safety for all. Finally, she offers a framework to build "psychological safety nets" through the lens of intersectionality and inclusion.

Please reach out to Pasha if you would like to hire her as a coach, consultant, or speaker at pasha@pashamarlowe.com
She looks forward to helping you.
