    On September 11, 2001; a series of coordinated terrorist attacks forever changed the course of American history. Two hijacked airplanes struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in NYC, causing their eventual collapse, while another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. A fourth hijacked plane, United Flight 93, heroically crashed in a Pennsylvania field after passengers fought back against the hijackers. The events of 9/11 resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives and left countless others injured physically and emotionally. This day not only marked an unprecedented act of terrorism on American soil but also had profound global implications, shaping international politics, security measures, and public perception for years to come. 9/11, remains a solemn reminder of the human capacity for both cruelty and resilience. It has led to a lasting commitment to remember the victims, honor the heroes, and work towards a safer and more compassionate world.     It's back 2 skool again! Today's episode is about a controversial principal who made life hell for everyone in my elementary school back in the early 2000's. He was a cross between the Horned King from The Black Cauldron and the Trunchbull from Matilda. This man ruled with an iron fist and strongly enforced discipline and rules. He gained quite a negative reputation in NYC public schools for verbally harassing students and teachers which ultimately led to his downfall.     Many immigrants come to the United States for a chance of a better life. This is one of the darkest episodes of this podcast and I was contemplating not talking about it. But I figured it would be good for educational purposes and it was time to speak my truth. I'm a first generation American of Hispanic immigrant parents. This story is about my origins and the struggles my parents faced in the United States before becoming citizens. It's also about my childhood which was full of a lot of pressure, high expectations, and criticism. My parents were very hard on my older sister and I because they wanted us to become successful in life.
