  • THE CHAIR (S1/Ep54) — My Name is David and I am white

    Hello Beautiful People,

    I’m Your Host Dreme.

I’m a Black woman, an educator turned tech entrepreneur but still an educator. Building a platform called THE CHAIR is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hairboards, connect to hair stylists, and share hair care tips all in one space for a more joyous and streamlined experience. I built THE CHAIR Podcast to highlight hair journeys. A reminder to keep creating magic. As people sit in THE CHAIR you will get more than just hair stories. You will be immersed into experiences surrounding education, entrepreneurship, and identity. I hope you enjoy listening to my stories and the stories of my guests as we sit in THE CHAIR.

THE CHAIR (S1/Ep54) — My Name is David and I am white

I end up helping my mother by working on a few of her yoga projects and attend some of her yoga classes and I ended up meeting David. I became more curious and he decided to join me in a conversation to learn more about him and the worlds he holds close.

    His Bio:

I hold a thought, a thread of truth, a belief that we can change ourselves physically through healthy eating, massage, light weight training, smart stretching and a touch of cardio. With this not only the physical body, but also the mind changes.

I began my research as a dancer, artist, and biologist. My studies brought fascinating enrichment in fitness, art, massage therapy, gymnastics, yoga, social justice, trauma informed yoga and retreats and travels worldwide. I wanted to make a difference and to help others see how incredible they are. I have always been a champion of the underdog, the different and those who think in new ways.

I currently teach my own style of yoga which you could call "fun and smart stretching with a little conditioning, done in a room full of excellent people." I also am a bodyworker, a Structural Integrator and my work centers around shifting people out of pain and into alignment.

My hope is through both of these disciplines to help each individual find a way to walk freely, breath deeply and enjoy a strong, supple and well balanced body.
