第3回は長男編です。とにかく体を動かすのが好きだった幼少期。

小学3年生から大学卒業まで打ち込んだ野球。小学4年生の時から悩まされた野球肘。

そして、キャプテン、副キャプテンとしての経験が、

今、中学校の国語教師として働く現場で役立っていることなどについて話しています。

My life. My way. | Jibun o Taisetsu ni Kurasu

Starting with Episode 3, we will share stories about raising our three sons in a three-part series.

This episode focuses on our eldest son.

As a young child, he was always full of energy.

He devoted himself to baseball from third grade in elementary school through college graduation.

He also struggled with baseball elbow from fourth grade in elementary school.

In this episode, we talk about how his experiences as a captain and vice-captain have helped him in his work today as a junior high school Japanese teacher.

Kazu「…高校野球のな、最後の夏に嬉しいお話が」

Maya「はい、もうあれは本当にびっくりというか」

Kazu「彼がキャプテンやからな。キャプテンで抽選に行って」

Maya「抽選会行って、で、引いたのがね。開幕戦だったんですよね」

Kazu「開会式の後のな、開幕戦。場所は京セラドーム。京セラドームで試合ができるっていうね」

Maya「そう、そう、そう、そう。もう一生分の運を使い果たしたと、自分で言ってますね」

Kazu「あれはな。すごい、親としてもすごい思い出に」

Maya「そうですね。顧問の先生に、抽選会行く時に、京セラドームでやる履正社とのくじを引いてこいと言われてたらしいんですね…」

(Kazu and Maya reflecting on their son's final high school baseball summer, where he miraculously drew the opening game at Kyocera Dome as team captain, though it unfortunately ended in a heartbreaking first-round defeat—the shortest summer in Osaka.)

子育ての終盤を迎えた私たち。第2回では、この番組を始めることになったきっかけを、二人それぞれの視点で話しています。

その背景には、最近のMayaの心境の変化もあったようです。

イントロの後半では、先日二人で訪れた、下鴨神社の古本市や五山の送り火についても触れています。

そしてエンディングでは、今後の予定についても少し話しました。

As we near the end of our child-raising years, in Episode 2 we talk about what led us to start this podcast, each from our own point of view.

A recent change in Maya’s outlook may also have been part of the background to this decision.

In the latter half of the intro, we also talk about our recent visit together to the secondhand book market at Shimogamo Shrine and the Gozan Okuribi bonfires.

At the end of the episode, we briefly talk about some of our plans for the future.

Maya「普段のステージが変わってですね、自分を真ん中に置いて生きていけるようになってきたかなっていう、この日々の喜びというか」

Kazu「まさに番組のタイトルやな」

Maya「そうですね、マイライフ、マイウェイというか…自分らしく無理のない範囲で、自分を真ん中に置けるというか」

Kazu「自分を大切に暮らすってやつやな」

Our children have grown up and left home, and now it is just the two of us. As we talked about how we want to enjoy the years ahead, we somehow ended up starting a podcast together.
