Infamous mobster Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli (Steve Martin) is under the witness protection program and FBI agent Barney Coopersmith (Rick Moranis) is assigned to take Vinnie and his wife Linda to a house in the suburbs. Shortly thereafter, their wives leave them and the agent gets closer to the gangster and befriends him, much to the shagrin of DA Hannah Stubbs (Joan Cusack).
How will Vinnie adapt to the doldrums of the suburbs? How will Barney woo Hannah? And can the Merengue save them all?
