概要

I walked into my first Zumba class and lasted 15 minutes before I had to leave because I couldn't breathe. I couldn't do a single jumping jack. I couldn't hold a plank. I was using 5-pound dumbbells and calling them my "big weights."

That was August 2023. Today? 400+ group fitness classes. 26 pounds down. I'm using 15-pound dumbbells, taking multiple classes in a day, and chasing those 20-pounders that keep haunting me from across the weight rack.

I'm Famous Ashley Grant, and More Movement Please is my fitness podcast — a digital diary from a woman over 40 who got tired of wishing she was stronger and finally did something about it. I record most of these episodes in my car on the way to and from the gym, so they're quick (5-10 minutes), honest, and easy to binge. Think of me as your workout buddy who keeps it real.

This show is part accountability, part education, part inspiration. I talk about beginner fitness tips, gym motivation, what to do when you sleep through your alarm, why most fitness influencers are full of it, and how small lifestyle changes beat crash diets every single time. Sometimes I bring on guests — like my YMCA instructor Rhonda Goode, who told me the thing that changed everything: "Everyone is busy, but it's a choice to schedule exercise just like anything else."

The goal isn't a number on a scale. It's getting strong, feeling better in my body, and building a community of people who believe they deserve to move. I want this to be more than a podcast. I want it to be a movement of movement.

  • When Your Body Says No: Giving Yourself Grace Without Losing Your Momentum
    2026/02/25

What happens when you've moved your body almost every single day for over 220 days and then hit a wall so hard you can't even talk yourself into a stretch? Ashley Grant gets brutally honest about the Sunday she chose to skip her workout entirely, and why that decision might have been the smartest fitness move she made all week.

In this episode, Ashley breaks down the difference between laziness and genuinely listening to your body, the guilt that can come with rest days, and how to make sure one skipped workout doesn't quietly turn into a week off. If you've ever felt like taking a rest day means you're failing, this episode will change how you think about recovery for good.

  • Want to Quit Mid-Workout? Me Too. Here's What Keeps Me Going
    2026/02/23

Ever been in the middle of a workout and thought, I'm done, I'm out, I'm going home? You're not alone. In this candid Q&A episode of More Movement, Please, Ashley pulls back the curtain on the real, unglamorous side of staying consistent, including the day she had to walk out of class entirely and couldn't go back.

Ashley tackles three listener questions head-on: what it actually feels like to want to quit mid-workout and what gets her through it, how to tell the difference between a bad day at the gym and a genuinely bad week, and the exact moment fitness stopped being something she was "trying" and became a core part of who she is. Spoiler: it wasn't overnight, and it wasn't magic. It was day 100.

Whether you're brand new to working out or you've been at it for months and just hit a wall, this episode is the honest pep talk you didn't know you needed.

  • Aging Is Not the Problem. Inactivity Is.
    2026/02/18

The number one fear people over 60 have isn't death. It's needing help. In this episode, certified health coach and personal trainer Dean Walters of Aging Boldly breaks down why movement is the single most important thing you can do for your body as you age, and why you don't need to become a gym person to do it.

After 30, we all start losing muscle and power if we don't actively fight for it. And for older adults, that loss isn't about how you look. It's about whether you can get off the floor, catch yourself on a curb, carry groceries, or play with your grandkids. Dean shares the three big reasons movement matters most: independence, resilience, and better health markers across the board.

Ashley also gets personal about a recent fall that could have been much worse if she hadn't been consistently moving her body. This is the episode to send to someone you love who hasn't started moving yet.
