Luke Keaschall might be the next big thing for the Twins,

Twins rookie sensation Luke Keaschall added to his historic start with a walkoff homer on Sunday, and one national baseball insider appears completely bought in on the 22-year-old emerging star.

Speaking about Keaschall Monday morning on MLB Network, Jon Morosi excitedly declared that the young second baseman is "the future of the Twins." He didn't stop there, though. Morosi also compared Keaschall to one of baseball's top current stars.

    FedEx Cup playoffs continue,

It’s the second leg of the 2025 FedExCup Playoffs, with the race to see who earns their way to East Lake heating up.

The PGA TOUR’s BMW Championship returns to Caves Valley Golf Club, where the TOUR’s best will see an extensively renovated layout.

The top 50 in the FedExCup standings earned their way into the field this week, with five making the leap via their finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week.

  • 3M Open recap, The Twins are about to start the fire sale, and a never before heard Richard Reusse story involving fire insurance!!

3M Open recap, The Twins are about to start the fire sale, and a never before heard Richard Reusse story involving fire insurance!!

Kurt Kitayama finished a sizzling weekend with a final-round 65 to win the 3M Open on Sunday, beating Sam Stevens by one stroke for his second PGA TOUR victory.

Kitayama, who shot a career-best and tournament-record-tying 60 on Saturday to enter the final round within one of the leaders, birdied six of the first eight holes to build a cushion on a 91-degree afternoon at the TPC Twin Cities.

“Getting off to a start like that kind of helps settle you down,” Kitayama said. “Final round, second-to-last group, theres definitely some nerves.”

Joe Ryan delivered his worst start in nearly two months during a 9-3 loss to the Washington Nationals and Byron Buxton exited Saturday night’s game because of left side soreness.

It was a tough day for the Twins’ two All-Star players, and an ugly performance for a struggling team attempting to stay afloat in the wild-card standings.

“We’ve been playing some pretty good fundamental baseball,” manager Rocco Baldelli said. “Today was not that.”

Buxton didn’t return to the field after the sixth inning, but Baldelli said Buxton was “relatively upbeat” when they chatted during the game. Buxton, who made a leaping catch at the center field wall in the first inning, will undergo medical imaging Sunday morning.

In a fitting tribute, Dundas names baseball stadium for Bill Nelson, team’s biggest booster

On a lazy summer weekend when overcome with an urge to see a grassroots ballgame, the cure often has been to take a drive an hour south to Dundas. The Cannon Valley League offers some of the state’s top competition, and if it’s the Dukes vs. Miesville’s Mudhens, you have an unmatched rivalry.

I was there one Sunday when there was a playoff game, with both teams guaranteed to advance to the state tourney. Immediately after the game, the managers went into a small area to draft pitchers from other Cannon Valley teams.

Joe Driscoll had been drafted by Dundas the previous year. He walked around with a beer in hand, waited a couple of minutes and then found out he would be a Mudhen for this tournament.

Driscoll tipped the beer upward in a salute and said, “Well, every team needs a role model.”

Joe died three years ago, and the world has been a less enjoyable place since then.
