The Vikings pulled off a stunning fourth-quarter comeback, scoring 29 unanswered points to stun the Packers 39-22 — fueled by two crucial turnovers and a defense that rose to the occasion. But behind the scenes, the rookie class struggled to make an impact: Max Bredeson led with 24 snaps as a fullback, while defensive rookies combined for just 38 plays. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores explained they prioritized experience when the game was on the line, sidelining first-round picks Caleb Banks (16 snaps), Chuck Demmings, and Jake Golday entirely — despite heavy blitzing. Domonique Orange, however, shined with 22 snaps and a key fourth-down stop. Flores emphasized confidence in the rookies’ long-term potential, even if this game didn’t go their way.

The Minnesota Vikings’ QB future hangs in the balance as Kyler Murray’s concussion protocol looms — if he can’t practice by Wednesday, Carson Wentz returns to lead the offense. Wentz delivered a solid performance in his last start, throwing for 133 yards and 3 TDs, while Murray struggled before getting hurt (18 yards, 1 INT). Signed back after Wentz’s return this offseason, Murray remains the team’s long-term hope — but O’Connell must weigh immediate needs against future potential. Keep watching Murray’s status — his practice window could decide Sunday’s game.

Kyler Murray’s concussion in Week 1 sent shockwaves through the Vikings, but backup Carson Wentz seized the moment with a career-best performance—12-of-19, 133 yards, 3 TDs—turning a crisis into a quarterback showdown. If Wentz keeps playing like this, especially against the Bears, the Vikings may face an unexpected QB battle that could reshape their season.
