In this episode, Cody Barkhouse discusses the concept of working in versus working out, and how they balance it by thinking of themselves as a loving parent to themselves. It is very difficult to work in without beating yourself up, and that self-love is key to maintaining balance. Finally, they mention that eating a cake or ice cream is not self-love, because it hurts the body. Cody also shares how his experience of going through the pandemic changed his perspective on life. He says that it was all or nothing for him before the pandemic, and when everything was locked down he found himself in a position where he had to learn to live in a new way.     Dustin Dutcher is here with a brand new show called Millennial Men in Recovery to help other millennials in their recovery journey from addiction and trauma. Dustin's story begins with him wanting to be popular and having struggles with feeling good enough. He explains that drinking and smoking weed allowed him to be seen and accepted by his peers, which helped him to cope with his struggles. At the age of 18, Dustin stopped playing hockey due to a toxic relationship he was in. This decision led to a downward spiral for him where he became addicted to cocaine, methamphetamine, and alcohol. Eventually, Dustin was able to get sober and started coaching others in their recovery journey. The goal of his show is to empower people and give them hope that there are other ways to recover from addiction and trauma. This show is a valuable resource for anyone seeking guidance.
