The Matthew Biblical Exposition series you are now listening to consists of twenty-eight chapters and is divided into six volumes. This fourth volume covers Matthew chapters fourteen through eighteen. The content is organized by topic and divided into three sections: Biblical Exposition, Questions and Answers, and Sermon. From the perspective of the gospel of the water and the Spirit, this book shows us what kind of faith the Lord wants from us and with what kind of faith we are to follow the Lord. Is faith relying on our own thoughts and abilities, or is it relying on the Word of God? Through Matthew chapters 14 to 18, this book clearly reveals the difference between a faith that relies on oneself and a faith that believes and follows the Word of God. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and thereby took upon Himself all the sins of mankind, and after receiving the judgment for those sins in our place and dying on the Cross, He rose from the dead and accomplished our perfect salvation. Do not put your own thoughts and judgments ahead of the Word. Through this book, confirm for yourself what true faith is: believing in the salvation the Lord has accomplished and following His Word. ● Scripture quotations used in this book are from the ‘New King James Version (NKJV)’, ‘American Standard Version (ASV)’. ● This audiobook is an original human creation based on the sermons of Rev. Paul C. Jong. Matthew Chapters 14 through 18 proclaim that Jesus Christ is the Savior who gives the bread of life, and that He is God the Creator who rules over the wind and the waves, over sickness and over demons. This Word also teaches the disciples whom they must believe Jesus to be, how the church is built upon that faith, and with what heart a saved person must serve the gospel and his brothers.

Matthew chapter 14 records the death of John the Baptist, the miracle of the five loaves and two fish, Jesus walking on the sea, Peter’s failure and salvation, and the healings at Gennesaret. On the surface these events seem to be simply strung together, but as a whole they contrast the figures of two rulers: Herod and Jesus.

Matthew chapter 14 begins with the death of John the Baptist. Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Jesus and was afraid, thinking that John the Baptist, whom he had beheaded, had come back to life. John had been imprisoned for rebuking Herod, saying that it was not right for him to have taken Herodias, his younger brother’s wife; and through the dance of Herodias’s daughter and Herod’s rash oath, he lost his life. When Herod was rebuked for his sin, there was a pricking in his heart, but instead of forsaking his sin, he chose the path of removing the one who had proclaimed the truth. Having guilt and the faith that receives the remission of sin are entirely different things.
