The Matthew Biblical Exposition series you are now listening to consists of twenty-eight chapters and is divided into six volumes. This third volume covers Matthew chapters nine through thirteen. The content is organized by topic and divided into three sections: Biblical Exposition, Questions and Answers, and Sermon. Why did Jesus speak the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven in parables? Why is it that, hearing the same word, some understand it and some do not? This book examines the parables of Matthew chapter 13 in connection with the word of chapters 9–12. It makes clear how the authority to remit sins and the compassion toward sinners, the disciples’ preaching of the gospel, the testimony of John the Baptist, and the rest the Lord gives are connected with the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The parables of the sower and the tares, the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price, and the dragnet show in what kind of heart the word bears fruit and how precious the gospel of the water and the Spirit is. If the parables of the kingdom of heaven seem vague, or if you want to know the difference between true faith and the religious teachings of the world, open this book. You will meet Jesus, who gives eternal remission of sins and rest and reveals the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. ● Scripture quotations used in this book are from the ‘New King James Version (NKJV)’, ‘American Standard Version (ASV)’. ● This audiobook is an original human creation based on the sermons of Rev. Paul C. Jong. Matthew chapters 9 to 13 show that Jesus Christ is God who has the authority to remit sin, and the Savior who rules over the power of sin, disease, demons, and death. Jesus had compassion on those sick with sin, raised up the twelve disciples as workers of the gospel, and through many parables taught the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven and showed what kind of heart receives the word of God. But the more clearly Jesus’ word and power were revealed, the fiercer grew the opposition and slander of the religious leaders.

Matthew chapter 9 clearly testifies that Jesus is the Messiah who rules over the power of sin, disease, death, and demons. Jesus did not merely display His power; He had compassion on sinners, on the sick, and on the multitudes wandering without a shepherd. At the same time, the chapter draws a sharp contrast between the people who believed in and followed Jesus and the religious leaders who saw the same works and yet slandered Him.

  • Ch09_02_Biblical Exposition_Jesus has compassion on sinners and gives them the remission of sins and new life
    2026/08/14

Matthew chapter 9 is the word in which Jesus comes to people who cannot escape by themselves from under sin, disease, and death, and bestows salvation on them. One after another there appear the paralytic lying on a bed and Matthew sitting at the tax office, the woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years and the dead girl, the two men who could not see and the demon-possessed man who could not speak. Their circumstances differed from one another, but they were the same in that they could not solve their problems by their own strength. Jesus did not turn away from such people; by remitting sins, healing the sick, and raising the dead, He clearly revealed that He is the true Savior who rules over the power of sin and death.
