This summer, we’re exploring four powerful words in an occasional sermon series that speak to the heart of the Christian life: meaning, affirmation, identity, and justice. Each week, we’ll turn to Scripture to ask: What does it mean to live a meaningful life in God’s story? How does God’s love affirm our worth when the world’s voices say otherwise? What does it truly mean to find our identity in Christ rather than in status, success, or shame? And how do we pursue justice as a reflection of Christ’s own heart for the world? These words are more than just ideas; they are signposts pointing us toward a deeper life of faith. Come grow with us as we rediscover how God’s truth can shape our lives from the inside out.

  • Camp Meetings and Bishop's Episcopal Address
    2025/06/29

First we hear from our Lay Leader, Paulette Adams, about the history of Camp Meetings. Our scripture from 1 John 4 will lead us into Bishop Lanette Plambeck's Episcopal Address to the United Methodist Churches in Minnesota. In her Episcopal Address, she urges us to lean into “the reckless, unrelenting grace of God” even when the world around us seems bent on despair. She reflects on the word “hallelujah”—which is found only in Psalms and Revelation; it’s used not as individual praise but as a collective call to praise the Lord. She invites us to “raise our hallelujah” as a form of sacred resistance against fear and false gospels, as a testimony to what God has done, and as a commitment to what God will do through us. She encourages us to be a people who love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.
