This week, Tracy and Mackenzie are joined by Makena Diehl - star group fitness trainer at Equinox, founding instructor at NYC’s hottest (literally) new studio Fuzehouse, FP Movement ambassador, and creator of her own format. The three of us go way back to our early DanceBody days, when Makena was just starting to make a name for herself in the NYC fitness scene. Spoiler alert: she’s taken off.
We dive deep into Makena’s journey from landing her first teaching gigs to growing her platform across some of the biggest names in fitness. She shares the real differences between working with legacy brands vs. doing her own thing, how she built a loyal following, and the “why” that keeps her showing up in the studio day after day.
Makena also opens up about her personal experience with disordered eating and body image, and how that has shaped her language, teaching style, and approach to movement.
