  • O is for Out of Body Experiences — Are We Really Leaving Our Bodies? The Ancient to Modern Evidence
    2026/06/01

Your heart stops. You float above your own body. You watch doctors try to bring you back. Then you wake up and describe things you shouldn't have been able to see.

This has been reported for thousands of years. Ancient Greece. Battlefields. Modern ICU units. Same experience. Every culture. Every century.

Halley and Blaire cover the full history of out of body experiences — from the ancient world to the AWARE II study, a peer-reviewed resuscitation study that tested whether consciousness survives after the heart stops. We present both sides: the believers who say this is proof of something beyond the brain, and the skeptics who say the brain is just doing what brains do when they're dying.

  • Haunted by the Ghost of Live Show's Passed- A Southern Oregon True Crime Summit Recap
    2026/05/25

We just did our FIRST LIVE SHOW and we're still not okay about it. 💀 Blaire and Halley traveled to haunted Jacksonville, Oregon for the Southern Oregon True Crime Summit and honestly...They left a piece of their souls there. Possibly literally, because that hotel was HAUNTED. The recap: 🎙️ We performed live on a stage in front of actual human beings who knew our names and laughed at our jokes. Three years ago we started this podcast and now people are showing up. IN PERSON. We're still processing. 🍷 Oregon wine country did not disappoint. We ate, we drank, we toured, we pretended to be sophisticated women who don't spend their weekends researching medieval cesspits for a living but we made sure people knew about it. 👻 Our hotel was genuinely haunted.

For all of you PATREON/ Macabba Hotties and Spotify Exclusive Feed Subscribers...watch for the live show recording to drop soon! We love you, we thank you and we see you!

You are the reason we do this. This won't be our last live show. Not even close. We're already planning what's next. If you were there — thank you. Genuinely. If you weren't — we're coming for your city next. New episodes back on our regular Monday drops starting next week. We've got some UNHINGED content coming and we cannot wait to share it with you.

    ☠️ Here's to fighting the morbs. ☠️

  • MACABRE EXHUMED- D is for Dracula from Season 1
    2026/05/18

We just got back from our first LIVE show at the Southern Oregon True Crime Summit in haunted Jacksonville, Oregon — and we're still recovering. While we shake off the ghosts (literally), we're digging one up from the vault for you.

This is D is for Dracula, exhumed from season one and still one of our all-time favorites. Vlad the Impaler. Dinner parties surrounded by forests of impaled corpses. The real history behind the vampire myth that makes Bram Stoker's version look like a bedtime story.

If you've been with us since the beginning, this one hits different now. If you're new to the morbs — welcome. This is where it all started.

We hope you enjoy this throwback to season 1.

  • Bat Bombs & Tycho Brahe: WWII's Weirdest Weapon and History's Drunkest Astronomer-DRUNKEN HISTORY EXHUMED
    2026/05/04

Buckle up, friends — this one's a double feature of pure historical insanity.

First, we're diving into Project X-Ray, the very real WWII plan where the U.S. government strapped tiny incendiary bombs to thousands of bats and planned to drop them on Japan. Yes, actual bats. Yes, it went exactly as wrong as you'd think. Spoiler: a test base may or may not have been set on fire by its own weapons.

Then we're stumbling into the bizarre, booze-soaked world of Tycho Brahe — the 16th-century rock star astronomer who mapped the stars from a castle, wore a metal nose after losing his real one in a duel over math, kept a psychic dwarf named Jepp under his dinner table, and had a pet moose that died falling down the stairs after getting drunk at a party. We're not making this up. History did.

🦇 This is a re-released bonus episode from our Patreon, where we drop our unhinged, extra-dark, extra-weird history content every month. If you love this kind of macabre, slurred, what-the-hell-did-I-just-learn storytelling, head to our Patreon for the full vault of supporter-only episodes — more drunken science, forgotten atrocities, and the historical horrors your textbook left out.

Pinkies up, cheers, and keep it MACABRE!

  • Mad, Bad & Fabulous: Oscar Wilde vs. Lord Byron | Macabre Drunk History Literary Edition
    2026/04/27

Two men walked into history dripping in velvet, scandal, and an absolutely unhinged commitment to being the most interesting person in the room. One was a bisexual lord with a club foot and a bear named Thor who lived in his abbey. The other was a gay Irish playwright who once said “I have nothing to declare but my genius” at customs — and meant it. Neither one was going to survive being themselves. But God, what a show.
