In this episode, I chatted with Alex Reeves who works in recruitment, helping personnel leaving the armed forces with their next steps. We discussed Alex’s experience of donating his stem cells for a stranger and the positive impact it has had on him and his life. We also talked about his other fundraising challenges and plans to run the London marathon next year!
I’d also like to share some personal news. In the last month, I have hit a huge personal milestone and some of you may be aware that I have been writing a memoir over the seven years or so about our son, Ben and our family’s own story about his diagnosis of acute myeloid leukaemia and need for a stem cell transplant. I am hugely proud of this book, Family of Five and legacy for my children, which is now available through my website www.grieftogrowthcreative.com
In addition, I have had the opportunity to speak as a Hope Hero on the recent World Marrow Donor Day webinar hosted by the World Marrow Donor Association. This was an opportunity to share our family’s story and give hope to those walking a similar path.
