The Gospel of Luke Biblical Exposition series you are now listening to consists of twenty-four chapters and is divided into six volumes. This first volume covers chapters one through six. The content is organized by topic and divided into three sections: Biblical Exposition, Question-and-Answer, and Sermon. “Luke Seen from the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit (I)” expounds the Word from Luke chapters 1 through 6 from the perspective of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Each chapter is composed of three parts: Biblical Exposition, Questions and Answers, and Sermons. The central message conveyed by this book is clear. Salvation is not accomplished by human goodness or merit. Rather, Jesus, who is God, received the sins of the world through the baptism He received from John the Baptist, died on the Cross to pay the price for those sins, and rose from the dead, thereby giving complete salvation from all sins to those who believe in this truth. Pastor Paul C. Jong of The New Life Mission is a servant of God who has devoted his life to preaching the true gospel. Through the Word he preaches, this book will lead souls held captive by sin to the joy of the remission of sins and to eternal life in Jesus. ● Scripture quotations used in this book are from the ‘New King James Version (NKJV)’, ‘American Standard Version (ASV)’. ● This audiobook is an original human creation based on the sermons of Rev. Paul C. Jong. To open the Gospel of Luke is not merely to read an old religious document. It is to hear what God has done in history to save sinners, and to receive and believe the gospel of the water and the Spirit that Jesus Christ completed as the word of salvation for me. Luke Luke, as a disciple of Jesus, carefully examined from the very beginning the testimony handed down by the eyewitnesses and ministers of the word, and then and the ministers of the word had handed down, and then recorded in order what Jesus Christ did and taught. The Gospel of Luke is not a book that rests the ground of salvation on religious feelings or human effort; it is the word that calls us to know and believe the salvation God actually accomplished.

The author of the Gospel of Luke is Luke, who was a Gentile physician. Within the text of this Gospel there appears no passage where the author directly reveals his own name. Yet from the early Church down to today, the Church has consistently confessed the author of this book to be Luke, and that confession is by no means a groundless conjecture. The internal evidence the text itself contains, the inseparable continuity with the Acts of the Apostles, and the united testimony of the early Church fathers interlock with one another and plainly reveal that this Gospel came from the hand of Luke. Confirming the author is not a matter of mere academic curiosity. It is precious because it is the starting point for understanding with what eyes and what heart this Gospel testifies of Jesus Christ.

In Luke chapter 1, the promises of the Old Testament and their fulfillment appear in many scenes. God promised to send John the Baptist, who would prepare the way of the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah; to cause Jesus Christ, who would inherit the throne of David, to be born of a virgin; and to shine the light of the remission of sins according to the covenant He had made with Abraham. Luke chapter 1 testifies that those promises are not notions or myths but facts that began to be fulfilled within history.
