• The Dangers of a Spiritual Path without Psychological Grounding
    2026/07/02
What happens when spirituality is psychologically ungrounded?Today I share the real dangers that I’ve seen when this is the case, and how we can avoid this with a true psycho-spiritual approach. The importance of grounded psychological work for those who lean in a more spiritual direction cannot be overstated.Psycho-spiritual integration is KEY…The spiritual ego these days is quite strong collectively, where many people who lean that way reject therapy outright, and the more grounded psychological work. What they don’t realize is that this is what they often need the MOST.I’ve seen multiple spiritual teachers directly guiding their students to reject therapy. This is straight up harmful and often has very dangerous consequences when the person is mentally unwell or has a lot of unhealed trauma. In a perfect world, we’d have practitioners helping people who are offering a more holistic, integrated, psycho-spiritual approach so that our clients wouldn’t have to piece together a whole team of people. We’re not there yet, so many times this has to be the case, where we support ourselves on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level with various support people. If you’ve done years of spiritual work and haven’t ever delved into grounded psychological support, even traditional therapy, now may be the time to get real and do some work. It won’t feel sexy and a huge amount of ego resistance may be present. For others, it’s the opposite - they’ve done years of traditional therapy, and now it’s time to open up spiritually. For the practitioners, for those called to be of most service to their community, it’s always beneficial to self-assess. Where are our blind spots, and where may we be called to become more holistic? For me, I started out practicing more traditional psychology and then weaved in spirituality. I’ve been deeply spiritual in my personal life from childhood and so this wasn’t a stretch, but I did have to blast through conditioned training around scope of practice and a system that often teaches therapists to avoid spirituality altogether. For primarily spiritual teachers, it could be SO useful to get some training in a more grounded psychological approach. I really do think that a psycho-spiritual framework is where we are being asked to go regardless of what side of the coin we’re on, and it’s actually a return to true psychology, as the word “psyche” originally means “soul.” Unfortunately, the field was stripped and sanitized of the spiritual side of things.I know that not every practitioner wants to be more integrated, and that’s fine. If practitioners want to stay in a more spiritual lane, for example, they ideally should be honest with their community that what they provide is not therapy, and isn’t a replacement for grounded, foundational work with a mental health professional. The best spiritual teachers or coaches make this clear in the language on their website or within their explicit teachings.Teachers or coaches who do not are a real red flag, in my opinion. They don’t know their own limits and often have rejected therapy in their own lives, and so truly believe that a one sided approach works. It can be helpful to find out the background of the practitioners you’re considering working with to see what types of inner work they’ve done. I always try to be transparent with my community, because it matters.Unfortunately, spiritual teachers who are taking on clients who are mentally unwell and psychologically ungrounded are perpetuating this problem, and some of them even tell their clients to reject therapy. It’s not a stretch to say that this won’t end well in most of the cases, and it’s really sad to see cases of people who have taken their own lives or the lives of others because the practitioner was blind to the fact that psychological support is absolutely warranted for many, many people.I would love to hear your thoughts about this conversation.Watch the video of this episode on YouTube.Link to a prior video I recorded on this topic:Are You Too Spiritually Advanced?—About Me:My name is Leigh-Anne LoPinto, and my mission is to help co-create the new paradigm of relationships. • What I Wish More Couples Knew...
    2026/06/24

The one thing I wish more couples understood is that arguments don’t come out of nowhere, and it’s rarely one person’s “fault.”

A relationship by definition is two people coming together and creating the dynamic.

We bring our baggage, our triggers, our unhealed wounds in relationships, and all of the stuff running in the background that shapes how we show up with other people.

The number one thing that I have seen that diffuses most conflicts right off the bat is when both people in the relationship understand this idea of co-creation, which is what I call it, and when each person is able to take personal responsibility for their side of the street.

This takes self awareness and also humbleness, to know that there is always something that you’re contributing to the dynamic that can be looked at and improved upon, especially when it comes to conflict.

I am not talking about abusive relationships here, that is a much deeper topic and I work 1:1 with people who have those patterns so that they can heal.

In my work, I talk a lot about the new paradigm of relationships - and this simply means bringing a greater level of awareness to how we show up in relationships so that we are not repeating the same mistakes that our parents made, or even that we’ve made in our past!

Most people these days are becoming aware of things like relationship patterns, how our upbringing shapes the partners we attract, and why these things are so important! Huge keys for inner work become available when we start to get curious about our side of the street.

So the first thing that can take you far if you’re in a relationship with someone is to take some time to reflect on the things that you butt heads about. Are there patterns on what you fight about? What triggers you the most in this relationship?

And also, zoom out beyond that specific relationship and ask yourself what types of partners and people you tend to attract. What are the patterns that keep coming up in your relationships?

These are the doorways into starting to work with relationships in a much more evolutionary way, where you can actually start to use relationships as a vehicle to heal, and to grow.

Again, it can save you a lot of time and confusion to work with a professional who does this exact work.

This is the work that I do with people 1:1 and it’s very powerful. This is the work that will change the whole game.

And when both people know this and become aware of how it’s usually less about pointing the finger at how bad the other person is, and more about taking ownership of what’s coming up for you so that you can grow from it, the relationship changes from blaming and shaming the other person to truly working together as partners to make things better.

  • Teaching About Victim Mentality Triggers Most People
    2026/06/13

Victim mentality is something we should all have compassion for, as it’s the way most of us are programmed from the start.

Victim mentality is “poor me” thinking, feeling like life is against you. It’s a passive, disempowered state where one lacks agency and personal responsibility.

Often, when we are stuck in victim mentality, life doesn’t feel good at all. We are stuck in a state of disappointment, depression, frustration, and often misery.

We can feel disconnected from our power and even life force energy.

I was in victim mentality for years and have a ton of compassion for those who are in it. I was forced to break free in 2016 with my most intense dark night of the soul.

In this episode, I speak about how to break out of victim mentality in a way such that we don’t lose our self-compassion (or compassion for others).

Personal responsibility is something we learn to step into adulthood, and this teaching should not be applied to children.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this one, as this teaching can trigger a lot of people! I wouldn’t go there if I didn’t truly believe that it is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my almost 50 years here.

  • Introduction to Emotional Alchemy
    2026/06/09

If you tend to avoid the tougher emotions of life - fear, shame, anger, and sadness, you’ll want to listen to this one.

On the flip side, if you don’t avoid these emotions, but instead get stuck in them, then this is also for you.

In this episode, I share an introduction to emotional alchemy - how we learn to work with our tougher emotions in a much more productive way, neither avoiding them, nor getting stuck in them. There is a third way, and this is the way that our soul is desperately asking us to learn, because it is the path of soul evolution.

We go super deep into this together in Alchemy of the Heart, our next group starting on June 22.

Alchemy of the Heart is now open for enrollment. Please join us:

  • This Path of Relationships is Spiritual
    2026/05/29

After focusing on ground level psychological foundations this year, I return to the deeply spiritual aspect of this path and the importance of an integrated approach.

I discuss energy clearing, the path of divine union as the move towards spiritual wholeness (NOT a romantic relationship, as it’s commonly referred to) and much more.

My work has not been traditional therapy for years. It is a blend of grounded psychology, shadow work, trauma healing, but also taking it to the spiritual heights of what is possible through relationships and our human experience. I weave long-form breathwork in specifically as a way to access altered states, talk about psychedelics and microdosing, and how we’re all being called into a balancing act between the linear and non-linear.

There’s also some overall updates on what’s happening, our next group program, in person retreats, my collaboration with my partner Joel Schafer, and much more.

Would love to hear any insights, reflections, or questions in the comments as always!

There’s much unfolding very deeply on this path as I live this work through me and continue to teach and serve at my own edge of embodiment of this work, as an imperfect human with a simultaneous devotion to the new paradigm and the truth of what is possible.

  • The Power of Healthy Shame
    2026/05/09

“One of the hallmarks of disturbed characters (narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths) is their pathological lack of shame.”

    - George Simon, Character Disturbance

Most people lump shame into one thing and think that it's all bad, all of the time. This couldn't be further from the truth. In this episode, I share the critical difference between healthy shame and toxic shame. And how missing the boat with this has led to the rise of narcissism across the board.

  • Is this path right for you?
    2026/05/04

In today’s episode, I get really honest and cut to the chase, sharing who’s right for this path and who it might not be the best fit for.

Here are some attributes that I look for in my clients, and in people who are best suited for this path:

They resonate with the path of relationships that I outline, and are excited at the possibility of walking it. They typically feel very aligned with it, like it’s part of their destiny.

At the same time, they don’t romanticize it, and know that it’s going to bring stuff up.

(One of the biggest myths about conscious relationships is that somehow they’re all rainbows and butterflies.)

We don’t spiritually bypass on this path, in fact it’s meant to be relational shadow work.

My people are ready and willing to see their blind spots. This can be uncomfortable, but is true freedom.

I often say that I’m not in service to people at the level of ego, but in service to people at a soul level. I have compassion for the ego, but will not prop it up.

My people have a growth mindset, a fundamental understanding that life is here as a school for us, and we’re here to learn some things.

This requires humility, knowing that, “Hey, i don’t know everything, but i’m willing to learn.”

And, this realization does not trigger shame inside of them. They get it, knowing it’s the human experience.

They know that seeing and accepting their weak areas is actually empowerment, because as they lean in, they can get stronger and more whole. Life becomes more balanced and better all around.

This ties into personal responsibility. Are you willing to take responsibility for your subconscious, the thing that’s actually creating your reality?

My people also know that healing is not linear. Sometimes we need to revisit things from multiple angles, especially our core wounds. (This relates to Jung’s concept of circumambulation.)

They are open to a truly holistic view of healing: psychological, spiritual, energetic, somatic.

My people are committed and aren’t going to run away when things get hard.

They are able to communicate openly if something doesn’t feel good, and practice open communication.

They’re willing to be empowered and take what I give them and run with it, putting it into practice, rather than giving all their power away, and expecting me to do the work for them.

Lastly, my people truly see this work as an investment in themselves and everyone around them.

It’s an investment in time, money, and energy, and yet ultimately it is an investment in your soul.

I match all of these things, and it’s really interesting for me to read back this list, because most of it is just my standards in relationships.

Lots of love to you all, and if you want to join The Visionaries, doors stay open until Monday, May 4, 2026 at 9:00 pm Pacific time.
