このコンテンツについて
Start your Saturday with a step into the strategic world of Catan Connect at the Oval Stadium. It’s the global event marking the 30th anniversary of the legendary board game. There’ll be casual matches, workshops, and a main event featuring players from across the world from 10am to 6pm. Head to Royal Wharf Park for the annual Royal Wharf Summer Fete, running 11am to 5pm. Enjoy live music, DJ sets, children’s entertainment, garden games, and a fantastic waterfront market offering delicious eats and drinks, all for free. If you’re in the mood for something sassy, the Drag Bottomless Brunch at Queen of Hoxton is a colourful midday party hosted by drag queens, with games, musical bingo, competitions, and 60 minutes of bottomless drinks plus tacos and churros from 2pm to 6pm.
Theatre lovers have plenty to cheer about. Malorie Blackman’s classic Noughts & Crosses is on at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, blending romance and social themes with the beauty of an outdoor setting. Disney’s Hercules the Musical roars into the Theatre Royal, while Stereophonic, featuring music by Will Butler of Arcade Fire, gives a behind-the-scenes look at a young rock band at the Harold Pinter Theatre. For comedy and nostalgia, Fawlty Towers returns to the Apollo Theatre, capturing the mayhem of Basil and company live on stage.
Saturday night is perfect for a party on the Thames. Playhouse Takes Over London launches from Blackfriars Pier at 3pm, with four hours of house music from some of London’s best up-and-coming DJs. Or immerse yourself in Latin rhythms at the epic Reggaeton Boat Party, departing from Temple Pier at 7pm for a wild night of sunset views, non-stop dancing, and two bars, capped off with an after-party at Paradise Latin Nightclub in Vauxhall until 5am. Tickets are available at ilovereggaetonuk.com.
Sunday brings even more. Game fans can gather at Ravenscourt Park’s Mind Sports Centre for the London Strategy Games Festival from 10:15am to 8:30pm, offering chess, bridge, Othello, Hive and more, taught by experts. Syon Park’s Great Conservatory hosts the Dapper & Suave Summer Market with independent brands in art, fashion, and lifestyle from 10:30am until 4:30pm. Water lovers can try out sailing, paddleboarding, and yachting at Twickenham Yacht Club’s open day from 11am to 3pm, where all abilities are welcome and equipment is provided. For a unique London view and a spot of history, climb the Caledonian Clock Tower on a guided tour at 1pm, where you’ll get a panoramic sweep of London’s skyline and learn about the city’s past.
And don’t forget: the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships begin this Monday, June 30. Head to South West London, savour strawberries and cream, and soak up the world-class tennis action through July 13.
