Tennessee Titans legend Chris Johnson made a tragic announcement this week that rallied the entire football community behind, but of course there has to be someone to make it about them and we saw that this week with Dan Lebatard's comments criticizing the interview. This is typical behavior from a well-respected media voice, but with a Titans legend involve it does strike a nerve. Now is not the time to use this as a tool against the NFL. Also, there are some big mysteries the Titans are facing as they look at the roster. On offense, the starting offensive line is still up for grabs and the depth at offensive tackle is still shaky. Add in depth questions at tight end and you still have a lot to figure out. On defense, outside of the trenches, there is no certainty on any of the depth at any of the spots in the back seven.

Jeffery Simmons is the second-best defensive player in the NFL so disrespect is the only thing you can take from his ranking of 83rd in this year's NFL Top 100. Yes the system is flawed and rankings don't ultimately matter, but it's a frustratingly insane ranking and further illustrates how the Titans get taxed in any public setting. That is why it is so important they turn things around starting this season. It has been unbearable as a fan for the team to not only be lacking in on-field success, but to also deal with a lack of respect for the players who actually deserve it. Titans fans everywhere need this to change immediately. Finally, one of the big things that has Titans fans excited for this year are the new uniforms, but there is still more to come with Nike dropping their rivalry sets later this summer. We may have gotten a sneak peek though in the form of some shoes. If close in design, the new rivalry uniforms are certain to be a hit.

The Tennessee Titans are focused on climbing the AFC South as a team, but at each individual spot they need to make moves as well. Specifically, at quarterback where Cam Ward needs to move up the rankings from the bottom to near the top and with everything that has been changed, he's prime to do it. Helping the cause will be Carnell Tate and his fellow wide receivers. If there is any position the Titans have climbed up with this offseason, it's the wideouts. Hopefully, the running game can aid in that as well with the Titans running back group being one of the better in the division. Tight end rankings could look very different by year's end as well if Gunnar Helm breaks out. The issue for the Titans is the offensive line is still ranked last and there isn't much hope for that to change by the end of the season.

The Tennessee Titans hired Robert Saleh to turn things around, but heading into Year 1 of his tenure he sits at the bottom of the AFC South rankings. Saleh will need to prove he can climb up as he brings the Titans with him. If Saleh finishes the season not in the last spot, that is a big win for the Titans. On defense, the defensive tackle spot clearly goes to the Titans. With Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers, it isn't close. However, that is the last spot where the Titans rank first on defense, but by the end of the season it would not be unrealistic to think the Titans could take first at linebacker and safety.

The Tennessee Titans have finished last in the AFC South for two straight years and if they want to turn things around, winning in the division is a good place to start. Starting at the top with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a big reason the Titans can gain ground is because the Jags had an awful offseason. Possibly the worst in the NFL. Resting on their laurels and going against the grain made a controversial few months for Jaguars brass. The Tennessee Titans will need to overcome the most consistent team in the division if they hope to reclaim the AFC South and that is the Houston Texans. Forever linked, the Titans-Texans rivalry has spanned for ages, but the Texans are on top right now and it is hard to see them falling off with the talent they have. While the Texans didn't make a lot of flashy moves, they added in the right places and made changes where necessary.
