    On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Florida took full control of the first period where it looked similar to game seven vs. Toronto back in 2025, where the puck was consistently in the Leafs end, and Florida was able to pounce with three goals, them coming in all situations. Even Rodrigues led the way with nine shots in the game, and seven of them coming in the first period. Toronto then had the territorial advantage after the first period, and that's when Sergei Bobrovsky got to work, where he was able to track pucks well from all over the ice. Florida's defense gave very few high danger opportunities, and Bobrovsky was able to clean them up with the lack of rebound chances for Toronto. It's one win out of the Olympic break, and the Panthers have no room for error and getting healthier, can they keep this up as they are right back at it on Friday? Yes, there are 25 games left, but the true direction of the Panthers will be decided in these next five games before the March 6th trade deadline. There's a bit of noise from national personalities speculating what the Panthers could do with Panthers G Sergei Bobrovsky. Could the Panthers actually pull the trigger on a trade sending the goaltender that won them two Stanley Cup championships elsewhere as his contract is set to expire this offseason with the Cats salary cap health not being being in a great place? Aleksander Barkov was honored at Joe Dimagio Children's Hospital as he made another donation, and have also named a certain area out of him. With him getting some time on the ice, Bill Zito has shut the door on the possibility of season-ending LTIR'ing him, which does not come as a surprise in the case the Panthers miraculously make the postseason? How much gas do the Panthers have left in the tank? Because there also may be a scenario where Brad Marchand does not finish the season, so Florida could get some cap relief because of the fact that there are other guys who are making their way back and could be in the lineup as soon as their first road trip to begin the month of March.
