Ryan Craig said he expects VGK's urgency level to go way up tonight as his team takes the ice to begin Season Ten in Las Vegas. This will be Craig's first game as the head coach for the Golden Knights after years as an assistant and as the head coach of AHL Henderson. VGK has a veteran group but will have to replace the scoring of Pavel Dorofeyev. Trevor Connelly will make his first NHL start tonight on the third line. The bottom six is still a question mark. We also have predictions for the upcoming season and the return of Locks, Props and Chance.

Mark Stone scored a natural hat trick with all three goals coming in the third period, to propel VGK to a 6-2 win over the hapless Flames. The Golden Knights got on the board early on a Brett Howden goal just :25 into the game. That set the tone. VGK went ahead 2-0 on a Jack Eichel steal and breakaway goal. Braeden Bowman scored a goal and it was off to the races. Carter Hart got the win in net for VGK. We preview the Golden Knights-Penguins game Saturday night as the Pens come into town on the tail end of a back to back. And we have WTF - What The &^%$ Friday - with fan comments.

The Golden Knights host the Utah Mammoth as the regular season draws near. VGK will play most of its veterans and what could be the opening day lineup tonight. Adin Hill is expected in net, but we should see all four lines and defensemen we will see on opening night. This could become a spicy affair! We could see spillover from the playoff series, which got heated at times. We have the latest cuts as VGK has to still cut five players in advance of Tuesday's opener against the Blackhawks. A handful of players still need to step up. And, we talk about why this could be a historical season for VGK.

Akira Schmid was traded to Florida Monday night. What does that mean for Adin Hill? Is Hill on the trading block? Will Carl Lindbom become the new backup goalie to Carter Hart. As The VGK Goalie Carousel Turns. Schmid was sent to Florida for a future third round selection Monday. That means Lindbom, who had an 18-0-2 run late in the AHL season, could move up the backup should Adin Hill get traded. We haven't heard a lot of rumors about Hill being traded, but he fell out of favor this past season. We discuss the top free agents that are still out there and whether VGK will be active in the market when Free Agency begins on Wednesday morning at 9am PT. And, all VGK RFAs received offers Monday. We will keep up with their offer sheets.

With free agency starting today and a thin market available, the Golden Knights might be forced to re-sign some of their own players to fill out the roster. There aren't many impact players on the market, plus VGK doesn't have the cap space to sign and of the top free agents, unless they can unload players. We can expect to see the signing of Rasmuss Andersson today as one of VGK's top free agents.Tuesday VGK traded Kaeden Korczak to Pittsburgh in exchange for blueliner Parker Wotherspoon. We have an in-depth analysis of the trade. And, Jeremy Lauzon receives a new contract of 6x$4-million. Is he worth the price and term.

There were no marquee players signed for the Golden Knights on Day 1 of free agency. The biggest official signing was Rasmus Anderson for 7 years x $8.5 million after he was acquired in a trade from Calgary toward the end of last season. VGK also traded away long time fan favorite Keegan Kolesar to Detroit. We also run down players that signed within the organization as well as newcomers.

We break down how the Golden Knights could make up for the 37 regular season goals that Pavel Dorofeyev scored this past season, before he was traded to the Rangers. We are in agreement that it could be by committee, with everyone having to step up their game. Kelly McCrimmon mentioned Dorofeyev picked up the scoring when Jonathan Marchessault left the franchise two seasons ago. Dorofeyev stepped up his game and scored 72 goals over two seasons. And this season he scored 20 power play goals. Chris makes a strong case for why VGK should re-sign Reilly Smith. His stats were strong and he probably has a chip on his shoulder after being scratched throughout the playoffs. And, we have our WTF segement with your comments.

The Golden Knights and Mark Stone have not discussed future plans for the VGK Captain. Stone enters his contract year without any assurance the team will extend him. He carries a $9.5 million cap hit currently and a national outlet reported this weekend the talks have now been put on the backburner. Stone has missed 170 games during his 7 seasons with the Golden Knights. The Anaheim Ducks now have four days to decide if they want to match the Flyers offer sheet for Leo Carlsson. It would come at a hefty price of 5-years and $90-million. The Ducks would get four, first round draft picks if they don't match the sheet. And, we discuss what is next for VGK.
