  • Raising Empowered Girls & Empathetic Boys with Dr. Jo-Anne Finkelstein
    2025/03/12

We are joined by Dr. Jo-Ann Finkelstein, a clinical psychologist and author, discussing the complexities of parenting in a modern context. We explore the challenges of raising empowered girls and boys, the impact of gender bias, the importance of emotional health, and the role of media literacy. The conversation emphasizes the need for critical thinking in children, the significance of teaching consent and bodily autonomy, and the effects of social media on self-esteem. Dr. Finkelstein provides insights on how parents can navigate these issues to foster resilience and empowerment in their children. She emphasizes the importance of open conversations about consent, respectful relationships, and sex education, drawing comparisons to more progressive approaches in other cultures, such as the Dutch. Finkelstein provides practical advice for parents on how to empower their daughters, recognize biases, and foster healthy communication about sexuality and personal desires.

      • Montana Bills criminalizing women for leaving the state seeking abortion care and attacking abortion medication were both tabled in the last couple of weeks.
      • On Monday of last week, the Supreme Court Refused to hear a pair of cases challenging laws that protect abortion clinic patients.
