Today I want to take you back to a really interesting time in American history. Because I love talking about my stories, but I love talking about American history even more! What period will we talk about? The 1920s! …which are often called The Roaring Twenties, and then we’ll talk about what happened next: the Wall Street crash in 1929, followed by the Great Depression in the 1930s. That period had a massive impact not just on the United States but also on the rest of the world. And yes, it also played a part in creating the conditions that led to the Second World War. So let’s just go for a little time-travel walk together.

Today we’re talking about something that I think is secretly driving all English learners (and honestly, even native speakers) a little crazy. And that is... English expressions that appear in the vocabulary of the young generation out of nowhere and it takes a while to understand what they actually mean. I flew to London. It was my third time going there, but you can take it as my little travel diary because I will tell you, briefly, what I did and saw in London. I am not a very descriptive person when it comes to trips. My mum always asks me - so tell me about London (or Barcelona or any other city I traveled to) and my answer is - yeah, it was great, you know, we did this and that and that’s about it.
