Ik kon het echt niet onthouden. Ik dacht altijd dat ik het nooit zou leren.Haha, yes, me too for French. I really couldn't remember it. I always thought I'd never learn it.Lisa: Precies! Ik wilde het liefst gewoon naar het land gaan en het in de praktijk leren. Veel leuker dan die saaie boeken.Exactly! I'd much rather just go to the country and learn it in practice. Much more fun than those boring books.Maarten: Dat is ook de beste ervaring, natuurlijk. Je leert zoveel sneller als je het elke dag moet gebruiken.That's also the best experience, of course. You learn so much faster if you have to use it every day.Lisa: Ja! Als ik nu een nieuwe taal zou leren, zou ik direct een taalmaatje zoeken. Of vrijwilligerswerk doen. Iets actiefs.Yes! If I were to learn a new language now, I'd immediately look for a language buddy. Or do volunteer work. Something active.Maarten: Dat is een heel goed idee. Want het uiteindelijke doel is toch communiceren, niet perfecte grammatica schrijven.That's a very good idea. Because the ultimate goal is communication, isn't it, not writing perfect grammar.Lisa: Zeker. Ik denk aan die mensen die een inburgeringscursus doen. Dat lijkt me best een grote uitdaging. It's so much more than just the language.Maarten: Absoluut. Je moet ook alles leren over de Nederlandse samenleving. Hoe de zorg werkt, de politiek...Absolutely. Je moet de stap durven zetten om contact te maken.Oh yes, that's right. And then the most important thing: participating. You have to dare to take the step to make contact.Maarten: Precies. Dat je actief wordt en een bijdrage kunt leveren, al is het maar iets kleins in je buurt. Dat is goed voor je zelfvertrouwen.Exactly. That's good for your self-confidence.Lisa: Ik had een keer een project op mijn werk met een collega die hier net woonde. In het begin was het moeilijk samenwerken.I once had a project at work with a colleague who had just moved here. In the beginning, it was difficult to collaborate.Maarten: Oh, waarom was dat?
