• 25| The Habit Corporate Taught You That Is Quietly Killing Your Coaching Business
    2026/05/15
You did everything right. You showed up early. You stayed late. You did the work. You kept your head down. You survived every room that told you to be less so everyone else could feel like more. And somewhere along the way you learned something that nobody taught you out loud. Make yourself smaller. Soften your voice. Smile when you are not happy. Stay quiet when you have the answer. Shrink. And here is what nobody told you when you finally walked out of that building. You took the shrinking with you. In this episode I am getting into something most coaches in this space will not say out loud. The same behavior that kept you safe in corporate is quietly showing up in your coaching business right now. In your vague messaging. You're avoiding a niche. Your underpriced offers. Your content that plays it safe when it should be speaking directly to the woman who needs you. And I know because I did it too. I left corporate and built my own business and I was still monitoring my tone. Still watching what I said. Still softening feedback that needed to land harder. Still following the rules of a system I had already left. This episode is for the high achieving woman who survived corporate, left the building, and is still shrinking inside the business she built herself. Here is what I need you to know before you press play. You did not choose to shrink. The system taught you to. It was a survival mechanism that worked. It kept you employed. It kept the retaliation at bay. It kept you in the room long enough to collect the expertise that is now the foundation of everything you are building. But you are not in that room anymore. And the rules of that room do not belong in your business. In this episode you will hear what shrinking actually is and the specific behaviors that signal it is happening, why you did not choose shrinking and why that matters for how you unlearn it, the McKinsey 2025 data that confirms what your body already knew about what corporate cost you, the Pet to Threat phenomenon and why Black women face a specific and documented version of this pattern, how shrinking followed you out of corporate and into your coaching business through vague messaging, niche avoidance, undercharging, and content that whispers instead of speaks, the faith case for using your full voice because staying silent is not humility, it is disobedience, and three specific actions you can take this week to start unlearning 20 plus years of making yourself small. Your voice is your assignment. God gave it to you on purpose for a purpose for the women who are waiting for someone who sounds exactly like you to finally say the thing out loud. This episode is going to name what has been happening. And once you name it you cannot unsee it. In this episode you will hear why shrinking was never your choice and why that distinction matters, the four specific forms shrinking takes and how to recognize each one in yourself, the data behind what constant self monitoring actually costs women professionally and personally, why Black women specifically experience the Pet to Threat phenomenon and what it does to your sense of safety at work, the exact moment I realized I had carried corporate shrinking into my own coaching business, how shrinking shows up differently in a coaching business than it does in a corporate job, the biblical case for claiming your full voice using Esther, Deborah, and the woman with the issue of blood, and your homework for this week. • 24| What Neuroscience and the Bible Both Say About Becoming Who God Called You to Be
    2026/05/08
Over a year ago my mother lost the ability to walk. I had already left my corporate job to coach full time. There was no going back. No safety net. No plan B. Just me, my mom who needed me around the clock, and a coaching business that needed me to show up. And in the middle of the hardest season of my life I heard God ask me something that stopped me cold. Who do I say you are? Do you trust Me? That question sent me down a rabbit hole I was not expecting. Because what I discovered is that neuroscience and the Bible are saying the exact same thing about identity transformation. And once you understand what they are both saying together, you will never look at your hard season the same way again. Here is what I need you to know before you press play. Your brain does not know you are a coach yet. Not because you are not one. But because you have spent 20 plus years giving it evidence that you are a corporate professional. And now you are trying to tell it something different. So it is doing exactly what it is designed to do. It is resisting. It is pulling you back toward the familiar. It is whispering things like who are you to charge for this or you are not ready yet. That is not God. That is not wisdom. That is your brain running old programming. And you can change it. The Bible told us how thousands of years ago. Neuroscience just caught up. In this episode I am connecting the dots between Romans 12:2, Joshua 1:8, Hebrews 12:11, Colossians 3:2 and 3:23, and Romans 8:28 and what neuroscience has discovered about neuroplasticity, neuroplasticity windows, and self-perception theory. And I am telling you the full story of what happened when I chose to answer God's question with action instead of waiting to answer it with a feeling. This is not a motivational episode. It is a practical one. And by the time it is over you are going to know exactly what to do this week to start giving your brain the evidence it needs to catch up to who God already says you are. If you have been waiting to feel like a coach before you start acting like one, this episode is going to be the most important thing you listen to this week. Because the harvest does not come to those who wait to feel ready. It comes to those who are trained by the discipline. And your hardest season is not slowing down that process. It is accelerating it. In this episode you will hear what neuroplasticity actually is and why your brain is not as fixed as you think, why your hardest seasons are actually your neuroplasticity windows and what that means for you right now, the Hebrew meaning of the word meditate in Joshua 1:8 and why God gave Joshua a complete neuroscience protocol before walking into battle, what Romans 12:2 is actually describing when it says be transformed by the renewing of your mind, the full story of what happened when God asked me who do I say you are in the middle of caregiving full time with no corporate safety net, why acting from your new identity before you feel it is not fake and what the research says about why it works, and the exact first actions I took when I decided to stop waiting to feel like a coach and start being one. • 23| The Real Reason You Can't Choose a Niche (It's Not What You Think)
    2026/05/01

Let me ask you something before you hit play.

What does your LinkedIn headline say right now?

If it says something like "helping women live their best life" or "Christian entrepreneur passionate about purpose" or "empowering women to reach their full potential," sis, we need to talk. Because that headline is talking to everybody and reaching nobody. And until that changes, the algorithm is not your problem. Your vagueness is.

In this episode I am getting into something most coaches will not say out loud. Your niche problem is actually a courage problem. And I know because I lived it. I had 20 plus years of corporate experience, health coaching and stress management certifications, a ministry background, a burnout story, and ten links to ten different random offers on my website. I thought knowing a lot meant I should offer a lot. I thought not wanting to turn anyone away was generous.

It wasn't generous, sis; it's fear.

Here is what finally did it for me. Someone reached out wanting to work with me. And I sat there reading their message thinking two things at the exact same time. They have absolutely no idea what I actually do and I don't want to work with this person. That uncomfortable moment was the beginning of everything changing.

In this episode we get into why a vague message is invisible no matter how consistently you post, the direct connection between your LinkedIn headline and your empty DMs that nobody is explaining clearly, why your ideal client is not ignoring you but genuinely cannot recognize herself in your content, the real reason you have not picked a niche yet even though you have heard the advice a hundred times, and three things you can do today, not someday, to fix this before you record another piece of content.

This is the episode I wish someone had sat me down and made me listen to before I spent years confusing the wrong people and hiding from the right ones.

If you have been posting consistently and getting crickets, if your DMs are quiet and your follower count is not moving, if you have been wondering whether you are just not cut out for this, this episode is going to give you a very different diagnosis. And the good news is it is completely fixable.

In this episode you will hear why your vague LinkedIn headline is directly connected to your empty client roster, the story of the inquiry that finally forced me to get specific about who I serve, why the reticular activating system in your ideal client's brain means a vague message is scientifically invisible to her, the real fear underneath the "I help everyone" story you have been telling yourself, the faith case for choosing a specific person to serve using Moses and Esther as your evidence, and three concrete actions you can take today to start fixing this before you post another single piece of content.

  • 22| 300,000 Black Women Left Corporate in 2025. Here's What They're Building.
    2026/04/24

I want to tell you about the day a man yelled "don't get upset" at me while I was sitting completely calm asking straightforward questions in a soft voice about my own termination.

I was not upset. I was composed. I was professional. And none of it mattered because he had already decided who I was before I opened my mouth.

And that was the moment it clicked. There was nothing I could say or do to change how he saw me. So I walked out of that building and said something to myself that I have never forgotten.

They will always treat you this way. There is nothing you can say or do to change how they see you. So you have got to get out of here and build your own thing.

That was over fifteen years ago. And it is still happening today.

In this episode I am telling that story in full. And I am connecting it to data that most people in the faith and business space are not talking about. In a single quarter of 2025, over 300,000 Black women exited the labor force. Black women are now the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in the United States. Black women owned businesses grew 13 percent between 2024 and 2025 and now generate over 118 billion dollars annually.

We did not leave because we failed. We left because we figured something out.

This episode is for the woman who just left corporate, whether she walked out or got walked out, and is standing in that space trying to figure out what to build next. I am not going to give you a pep talk. I am going to give you the truth, the data, the story, and the practical first steps that I wish someone had handed me fifteen years ago when I walked out of that building.

This is not a survival story. It is a strategic leadership story. And it is time we started telling it that way.

In this episode you will hear the full story of the termination meeting that changed everything and what it revealed about the table I had been sitting at. The data on why Black women are leaving corporate at historic rates and what they are building instead. The psychological cost of code switching and over performing for decades and why so many women describe their exit as a recalibration not a crisis. What the first 90 days after leaving corporate actually look like and the questions worth asking before you start building. Why God did not give you those gifts for corporate to ignore them. And what it actually means to build your own table instead of waiting for a seat at someone else's.

  • 21| The Honest Truth About Coaching Certifications for Christian Women Over 40
    2026/04/17

I have four coaching certifications. A health coaching certification from IIN and a stress management certification (and a couple other ones) I got because I was convinced I needed more credentials before I could really help people.

And then I had a client session that changed everything I thought I knew about what actually qualifies you to coach.

She did not want to hear about the different types of stress. She did not care about the clinical frameworks or the terminology I had just spent thousands of dollars learning. She wanted to feel like a human being again. And the certification did not give me what I needed to help her get there. My own lived experience of burnout did. The moment I stopped teaching her and started telling her what I actually went through and what actually got me out, everything shifted.

That is when I knew. The paper was not the credential. My story was.

In this episode I am giving you the honest answer about coaching certifications that the industry is not giving you. Not because certifications are useless. Some of them are genuinely valuable programs. But because a certification is not what is standing between you and your first coaching client, and someone needs to say that out loud with real numbers and real evidence behind it.

Here is what we are getting into today. The real cost of coaching certifications in 2026, from four thousand dollars to over nineteen thousand, and what the ROI data actually says. Why certified coaches charge more per session and the truth about whether that premium comes from the paper or something else entirely. What my clients actually said when the testimonials came in and why none of it had anything to do with my credentials. When you should actually raise your rates and what the real signal is that tells you it is time. The honest roadmap for getting your first client without spending another dollar on credentials you do not need yet. And why God called you before He certified you and what that means for where you are right now.

This is not an anti-certification episode. It is a pro-calling episode. And if you have been sitting on your coaching business waiting to feel officially qualified enough to start, this one is going to move something in you.

In this episode you will hear the client session story that proved my lived experience was worth more than my certification. The real numbers behind what coaching certifications cost and what they actually deliver. Why the certification premium is about belief not paper and what that means for how you price your coaching. The honest roadmap from zero clients to raised rates without a single certification required. What Moses, Esther, and every woman God has ever used have in common with where you are standing right now. And the one thing that is actually missing in your coaching business right now and it is not a credential.

  • 20| Why Calling Social Media the Devil is Costing the Church its Future
    2026/04/10

For years I asked my church to build a website. I was a licensed minister in the AME Church and I could see exactly what was coming. I even learned how to build websites myself so I could offer to do it for free. And they said no every single time.

Until 2020 hit and left them no choice.

In this episode I am telling that full story for the first time. What it looked like when the churches that called the internet the devil suddenly needed the internet to survive. What happened when I stopped waiting for permission and built the website, the Facebook page, and the online giving system they had refused for years. And why the congregation's tithes kept coming in, the people stayed connected, and a church that had demonized these tools used every single one of them to keep the lights on during a pandemic.

But this episode is about more than COVID and conference calls.

It is about a pattern that has been repeating in the church for decades. Every new tool gets called the devil. The internet. Social media. Digital giving. Online church. And every time the church waits too long to engage, the world moves forward without them and the people inside the church, especially the women with decades of corporate experience, skills, and calling, get left further and further behind.

Your congregation is full of women who could build a revenue strategy for the church by Wednesday. Women who know marketing, communications, finance, technology, and strategy at a level most churches have never tapped into. And instead of equipping them and listening to them, too many churches are asking them to bring a covered dish to the next fundraiser.

This is not an anti-church episode. It is a pro-calling episode. And there is a difference.

If you have ever been the woman in the room with the answer nobody asked for, this one is going to say out loud what you have been feeling for years.

In this episode you will hear the history of the church calling technology the devil and what it cost them when COVID hit. The full story of how I built a website, Facebook page, and online giving system for a church that refused to ask for help until a pandemic forced their hand. Why churches that demonize social media are leaving Kingdom money and Kingdom impact on the table. The real reason so many Christian women with decades of corporate experience are still sitting on their calling. What it looks like to stop waiting for permission and build the thing anyway. And why the tools are not the devil. The fear of using them is.

  • 18| The Imposter Phenomenon: Why Qualified Women Still Don't Feel Ready to Coach
    2026/03/27

If you have been sitting on your coaching calling because you do not feel qualified enough to charge for it, this episode was made specifically for you.

In this episode I am breaking down the real science behind why so many qualified Christian women over 40 still feel like frauds when it comes to launching their coaching businesses. Not the surface level explanation you have already heard. The actual psychology underneath it, what your brain is doing, why it hits hardest during transitions, and what you can do right now to change it.

Here is what I need you to know before you press play. You are not a fraud. You are not broken. You are not behind. You are a high achiever in the middle of a transition and your brain is doing exactly what high achievers' brains do when the rules of the game change. Once you understand that, everything shifts.

In this episode you will hear why what you are feeling is called the imposter phenomenon, not imposter syndrome, and why that distinction matters more than you think. You will learn the hermit crab analogy that explains exactly what this transition feels like and why the discomfort is not a warning sign. You will discover Self Perception Theory and how your brain actually builds your identity from the outside in. You will understand why fake it till you make it is only half right and what to do instead. And you will walk away with three practical things that actually work to give your brain the evidence it needs to believe you are the real deal.

This is not a motivation episode. It is a science episode with faith woven through every layer of it. And if you have been waiting to feel ready before you start, this one is going to move something in you.

In this episode you will hear:

What the imposter phenomenon actually is and why it is not a character flaw. Why this feeling hits hardest during identity transitions and what that means for you right now. The hermit crab analogy and what it reveals about leaving corporate for coaching. Self Perception Theory and how your brain watches your behavior to decide who you are. Why isolation makes the imposter phenomenon worse and what to do instead. Three practical steps to give your brain the evidence it needs to start believing in your calling.
