概要
For years I asked my church to build a website. I was a licensed minister in the AME Church and I could see exactly what was coming. I even learned how to build websites myself so I could offer to do it for free. And they said no every single time.
Until 2020 hit and left them no choice.
In this episode I am telling that full story for the first time. What it looked like when the churches that called the internet the devil suddenly needed the internet to survive. What happened when I stopped waiting for permission and built the website, the Facebook page, and the online giving system they had refused for years. And why the congregation's tithes kept coming in, the people stayed connected, and a church that had demonized these tools used every single one of them to keep the lights on during a pandemic.
But this episode is about more than COVID and conference calls.
It is about a pattern that has been repeating in the church for decades. Every new tool gets called the devil. The internet. Social media. Digital giving. Online church. And every time the church waits too long to engage, the world moves forward without them and the people inside the church, especially the women with decades of corporate experience, skills, and calling, get left further and further behind.
Your congregation is full of women who could build a revenue strategy for the church by Wednesday. Women who know marketing, communications, finance, technology, and strategy at a level most churches have never tapped into. And instead of equipping them and listening to them, too many churches are asking them to bring a covered dish to the next fundraiser.
This is not an anti-church episode. It is a pro-calling episode. And there is a difference.
If you have ever been the woman in the room with the answer nobody asked for, this one is going to say out loud what you have been feeling for years.
In this episode you will hear the history of the church calling technology the devil and what it cost them when COVID hit. The full story of how I built a website, Facebook page, and online giving system for a church that refused to ask for help until a pandemic forced their hand. Why churches that demonize social media are leaving Kingdom money and Kingdom impact on the table. The real reason so many Christian women with decades of corporate experience are still sitting on their calling. What it looks like to stop waiting for permission and build the thing anyway. And why the tools are not the devil. The fear of using them is.
