The diaspora discussion is back, and this time, we're getting into the conversation!

After a recent clip featuring Davincii on the Cam Newton podcast reignited tensions across the Black diaspora, we're unpacking the reactions, the disagreements, and the bigger questions surrounding African and African American identity, history, and cultural contributions.

Christine and Sahra of Ladies of SOSA are joined by Calvin Ford of the Blvck Ice Podcast, who identifies as FBA (Foundational Black Americans), for an honest conversation about the issues that continue to spark debate between Africans and African Americans.

Who has contributed what to the global Black experience? Do Africans fully recognize the impact of Black American history and culture? Are African Americans given enough exposure to African history and cultures? And why do conversations about our differences so often turn into competition?

We explore the tensions, challenge stereotypes, and discuss whether social media is helping us understand one another or pushing us further apart. We also get into the importance of recognizing our different histories and experiences without diminishing what each community brings to the table.

But the conversation doesn't stop at identity and culture. With the midterm elections approaching, we also discuss the Black vote, political engagement, and the issues shaping conversations within Black communities in America.

After reacting to Nyadol Nyuon’s viral comments about having “no intention of assimilating,” Ladies of SOSA sits down with the South Sudanese-Australian lawyer and human rights advocate for an exclusive follow-up interview to go beyond the headlines and hear her perspective in her own words.

Nyadol’s appearance on the ABC’s National Forum sparked a wider conversation about immigration, assimilation, multiculturalism, race, and what it means to belong. But does embracing a new country mean abandoning your culture? Can you love a country while challenging its systems and attitudes? And why are some immigrants still expected to prove that they belong, even after becoming citizens and contributing to society?

Is dating in 2026 actually worse than ever? 😂

Between situationships, ghosting, love bombing, dating apps, “we’re just seeing where things go,” people refusing to put a label on anything, and somehow dating multiple people at the same time… dating has never felt more complicated.

In this episode of Ladies of SOSA, Christine and Sahra are breaking down the chaos of modern dating and asking the questions everybody seems to be thinking but nobody wants to ask.

Why are people so afraid of commitment? Is dating multiple people before becoming exclusive fair game? When does a situationship become a relationship? Who should pay on the first date?
