Rob interviews Laura and Scott from the Nashville Acoustic Jazzy Funk Band SLAP DRAGON

Rob sits down with Laura and Scott for a great conversion about their first tour, their first album release MISSION STATEMENT, what it's like traveling together in one vehicle, how the name slap dragon came about... and more!

Slap Dragon is the brain-child of bassist Scott Mulvahill and vocalist Laura Berens who met and began writing songs together in the summer of 2023. Soul vocals and acoustic instruments (played by some of Nashville's heaviest session musicians) combine for a fresh, funky irresistibly joyful sound that is equal parts bluegrass, disco, and RnB. Slap Dragon played their first show on June 1st, 2024 to an enthusiastic crowd in Nashville, followed by a set at Bonnaroo.

Following their successful Kickstarter campaign in October 2025, Slap Dragon released their debut album, "Mission Statement," on May 29th, 2026

They are currently on tour coming to New Jersey, Pennsylvania and a town near you !

JASON LEAVY INTERVIEW

Rob and Paul sit down for a conversation with Producer, Writer, Actor and Stuntman JASON LEAVY.

Jason and his brother Michael started the film company "fuzz on the lense" over 16 years ago and have gone on to produce the Horror films Terrifer 2 & 3 and their own horror film STREAM (2024) (which starred a ton of horror legends like Tim Curry, Tony Todd, Dee Wallace & Jeffrey Combs - just to name a few).

Jason has been in all 3 terrifier movies and not only co-wrote Stream but he's also "player 1". Jason was there on set for all 3 terrifier movies and not only was one of the producers but also acted as casting director on "2" and was there from the beginning of the creation of Art the Clown.

Another interesting fact is that Jason & Michael started their film journey with "the staten island clown" ... intended to be a fun thing it turned into a viral news event and now it's part of the new hulu documentary "Clown Panic" (along with other frightening clown incidents).

Paul and Rob talk with Jason about his first film "Abnormal Attraction", the Terrifier Movies, Stream, some updates on Stream 2, the possibility of a new lepechaun film .. and more!

Interview with Meghan Parnell & Dave Barnes from BYWATER CALL

Today Rob & Matt interview Meghan & Dave from the Toronto based band BYWATER CALL

Bywater Call formed in 2017 and have formed a huge fan base.

They've been touring the US non-stop this year bringing their incredible rock roots soul sound to everyone. Meghan is an incredible singer (think Susan Tedeschi / Beth Hart) and Dave is an incredible guitarist. They are the heart of the 7 piece band.

***

We talk about musical influences, being compared to other artists, where the name "bywater call" came from, their new album "broken souvenirs", and we also find out what Dave's before show ritual is... and more! In this interview you'll also hear some of their new songs like "Clutter", So Far" and "Is This Thing On?" (a favorite of ours)

At the end we ask Meghan and Dave a mystery question (what # did they pick .. what is the question?)

A little about BYWATER CALL:

Often transcending genres, Bywater Call is known for their dynamic, emotional live shows, featuring powerful vocals and exciting interplay between all band members.

In 2025, Bywater Call was UK Blues Award nominated for International Blues Artist of the year alongside winners Larkin Poe, after having toured extensively in Europe. This year, the band has been short-listed into the top 20 for the same award among many notables in the genre including Larkin Poe, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Beth Hart, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, Samantha Fish, Bobby Rush and other notables in the genre.

The band’s music is an exploration of life’s highs and lows. From intimate ballads that lay bare the complexities of human emotion to electrifying anthems that demand to be played at full volume, their catalogue is a journey through the human experience, incorporating influences from the likes of The Band, The Wood Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat, Sly and the Family Stone, among others.

Bywater Call’s new album “Broken Souvenirs” is out now. They tour the UK from January 27 – February 7, 2027. Album and tickets available from www.bywatercall.com
