Rob interviews Laura and Scott from the Nashville Acoustic Jazzy Funk Band SLAP DRAGON

Rob sits down with Laura and Scott for a great conversion about their first tour, their first album release MISSION STATEMENT, what it's like traveling together in one vehicle, how the name slap dragon came about... and more!

Slap Dragon is the brain-child of bassist Scott Mulvahill and vocalist Laura Berens who met and began writing songs together in the summer of 2023. Soul vocals and acoustic instruments (played by some of Nashville's heaviest session musicians) combine for a fresh, funky irresistibly joyful sound that is equal parts bluegrass, disco, and RnB. Slap Dragon played their first show on June 1st, 2024 to an enthusiastic crowd in Nashville, followed by a set at Bonnaroo.

Following their successful Kickstarter campaign in October 2025, Slap Dragon released their debut album, "Mission Statement," on May 29th, 2026

They are currently on tour coming to New Jersey, Pennsylvania and a town near you !
