 To most, WWE is your only exposure to pro-wrestling, but did you know up until 30 years ago, pro-wrestling was more like the Mafia than a sports league? Did you know that in the 80’s, while wrestling presented a show literally designed for children, that behind the curtain was the most Rated R, sexual, drug addled, sexified, violent, and cutthroat world imaginable? It was a sex, drugs, and muscles world while a nationwide SUCCESSION-like corporate war for national supremacy waged. In this crazy world of 80’s wrestling, ALL these things happened: A wrestler bit a man’s nose off in a bar, a promoter offered a rival’s wrestler $500k to jump leagues with the rival’s title belt, wrestlers were killed for gambling debt with the Mafia, arch-enemies in the ring arrested for drugs WITH each other, a Hollywood actor was slapped on a late night talk show, wrestlers tried to form a union, a wrestler broke his back in an airplane crash to become the greatest wrestler ever, backstage brawls with guys almost killing each other with scissors, guys wrestling a match while an orchestra played music to match the action, a Black wrestler given the character of an African savage animal, a legendary wrestler pulled a ‘57 Magnum on the most famous wrestler in the world, while a fan held off a group of bad guy wrestlers at gunpoint at ringside, and wrestlers were given World title reigns in exchange for sex! These are just some of the building blocks of KINGS OF THE RING, a fictional soap opera that re-creates all the crazy, unbelievable, and outrageous tales of the real world of 80’s wrestling! In the 1980’s, anything went and wrestlers lived a life much wilder than the hardest partying rock stars, because fans then believed that wrestling was 100% real, and the wrestlers went to incredible lengths to protect this illusion. Often at the cost of their own souls... The characters will seem familiar to you, but never exactly the same as real people, and the stories will blow your mind, as you listen knowing that everything is based on the truth!     At the end of 1983, the 7 major territories collectively known as the World Wrestling Alliance had brought wrestling to its peak. Each kingdom ruling a different territory of the country with their own wrestlers, fans, and shows. And then the patriarch of the Alliance and owner of the New York territory, Jonathan Cain died. His genius, but obsessive and borderline psychotic son Julian Cain took over New York, with a mission to turn the Empire State, into an Empire. A wrestling league that would expand nationwide, obliterating the other 6 territories and re-shaping the sport into a family friendly living cartoon, ruled exclusively by him. The war has raged on for years, forever altering countless lives, and even ending several. As we enter 1987, only 3 Territories remain to oppose Julian Cain. The war will end, What is known is the Territory Wars will end by the end of the year, but who will remain standing? You’ve seen her on Netflix’s The Wrestlers, Dana White's POWERSLAP, WOW Women of Wrestling, and Booker T.’s Reality of Wrestling, or on shows around the world. She’s got the look, she’s got the charisma, and she’s got the attitude, and now she’s in the Kingsverse! Previously on Kings of the Ring, Nigel Davies convinced Julian Cain to give his old Alliance voting shares to make Daniel Hawkins the President gambling on Hawkins to mismanage the Alliance into the ground, then proceeded to quit the EWF and return to the Alliance where Hawkins would let him run everything. This ending the legal Civil War between the Alliance territories and Daniel Hawkins. The Oil Crash of 1986 has devastated much of the Mid-South, including Burt Ironside's personal investments, while Krusher Krawcyk has found new life training a bunch of rambunctious and eager wrestlers. After Hercules Harris reached his breaking point, he finally quit M'Butu Zulu and the EWF, forcing the Empire to scramble for a last minute replacement at Empire-Mania III, which ended up being Killian Kavanagh who got far more over than anyone expected. Vladimir Rykoff defected to the EWF feeling he was being sabotaged by the Booker in the Alliance, but tag partner, and childhood friend, Dmitry isn't sure he should join him. And Nelly Gotch unleashed his frustration at the reveal of his secret half-brother by beating Julian Cain near to death and selling Charlie's AMW to him, wiping his hands clean, while a similarly disenchanted Jesse James quit the WWA after learning Daniel Hawkins' dark secret Kings of the ring is intended for mature audiences.     Previously on Kings of the Ring,

    Julian Cain has struggled his entire life with father issues and in recent years found father figures in other people, but he's been thrown in a tailspin since learning Charlie Gotch was his biological father.

    All-South Wrestling going through all sorts of issues in their decline, made worse by Michael Angel's personal problems and Gabriel's criminal issues, all while Burt Ironside is in the midst of an internal Alliance war with Daniel Hawkins over the Presidency.

    Thor Hansen has officially become the most famous wrestler ever and his loyalty to Julian Cain is renewed, while Jesse James's career has pulled back, wrestling outside the Alliance.

    And finally, Julian Cain thought he was a goner when Nelly Gotch ambushed him and choked him near to death, only to awaken alone with no front teeth but ownership papers of AMW, with his first action to shut AMW down.

    Kings of the ring is intended for mature audienes. Today's episode would be rated MA for profanity, drug use, and graphic sexual descriptions.
