  • Stuck in "This or That" Thinking - Ep 142
    2026/09/22

I'd love to hear from you! Text me

As a Christian mom with a business, do you ever feel forced to choose between one or the other? All the demands of family life can be overwhelming and then you add in building a business and think you might be crazy. You know you will never give up on your family so you think maybe you need to quit your business. Maybe come back to it in another season that is less demanding.

Thinking you need to choose between two seemingly incompatible choices I call “this or that” thinking. It makes you feel stuck because it is so rarely true. It is true about entering the Kingdom of heaven God’s way, through faith in Jesus. It’s true about following God’s design and principles. However, there are many more choices that don’t require “this or that” thinking.

Today I want to look at how “this or that” thinking impacts decisions around balancing family and business. There are many ways this can happen. I’m going to use myself as an example.

  • Stuck in All or Nothing Thinking - Ep 142
    2026/09/15

I'd love to hear from you! Text me

It's easy to feel stuck in life and in business. I've been in a season where I was definitely feeling stuck trying to make decisions and discern where the Lord was leading. That led me to reflect and record this week's podcast: Stuck in All-or-Nothing Thinking.

As I was reflecting on that this morning, I realized that one of the reasons that we get stuck is all-or-nothing thinking. I saw that in the past few months, and even just in the last couple of weeks, again, I see that I was doing that.

This summer when I was preparing to do a workshop on getting unstuck with God it was not coming together the way that I wanted it to. I very quickly went from, "I should reschedule," to, "I need to quit everything." Fortunately, I was working with a coach that was able to call me out on that. Looking back at it from the outside, it's almost comical, like how fast I went from zero to 60.

Then I realized I was doing that again. I wanted to continue working with the coach, actually increase my work with the coach and do not have peace about doing that right now as much as I want to do that right now. I found myself thinking, "Well, if I can't do it this way, if I can't do everything that I want, then I should just quit altogether."When you recognize the all-or-nothing thinking, you can see that there are often other options. You can get some clarity and choose something in between.

It's more helpful to go deeper and ask, "What are the thoughts and the feelings that are going with it has to be one or the other?"There could be thoughts like:

    • It needs to be perfect.
    • It needs to be without mistakes.
    • It needs to be just everything exactly according to plan.
    • A lack of trust that God is gonna come through.
    • Fear of looking bad.
    • If you quit, you're just a failure.
    • You're pathetic.
    • You're disappointing God.

When you see it's not just a matter of choosing between all or nothing, or even a matter of choosing where in that continuum between all and nothing you need to land. There are fears or wrong ways of thinking that need to be dealt with to help you see clearly where in that continuum you need to land.

God wants to use your business to make you more like Jesus. He wants to minister to you. He wants you to get to know Him better, to learn that He is trustworthy.

  • Prctical Ways to Keep Going When You Want to Quit - Ep 141
    2026/09/01

I'd love to hear from you! Text me

What does it practically look like to keep going with your business when life is hard and you would rather quit?

Some of the reasons you may want to quit are business related and some are not.

I have wanted to quit when my business didn’t meet my expectations. I also wanted to quit when there were attacks on the way I was running my business, or the tools I created.

Non business related reasons include seasons of navigating life with adult children and grandchildren, as well as seasons of intense inner healing.

So why does He say to keep going?

God uses my business to make me look more like Jesus. He may have other reasons He is telling you to keep going.

In the process of making me more like Jesus God also uses the tools and lessons I learn to benefit to my clients. They are tools I understand because I use them. I know what it’s like to fight the battle in my mind to keep going when the enemy is making me think quitting is a far better option.

Some of the practical ways I keep going are staying close to Jesus through prayer, Heart Doodling with Jesus, ongoing conversations with God, and reflecting on His words. Being plugged into a coach and good support system are key for hard seasons.
