About Hussein:
Hussein Ugas is the founder and executive director of Rahma Recovery Center, an organization born from his own journey through long-term recovery. After spending a decade struggling with substance use in a community deeply affected by stigma, Hussein recognized how isolation and shame had kept him in the shadows. Motivated by personal loss and a desire to break the silence surrounding addiction, Hussein launched Rahma Recovery in 2023, especially after the heartbreak of attending several funerals in just two weeks. Driven by his experience and a strong sense of responsibility, Hussein is dedicated to bringing hope, support, and understanding to communities facing similar crises.
