Part Two with Katy Jo Zuidema: The Tea Gets Hotter

You asked for more—and oh boy, did Katy Jo deliver. In this episode, we’re back at her kitchen table for round two with one of the most decorated hunter under saddle and western pleasure trainers in the stock horse world.

We didn’t just chat—we went there. From burnout and growing older (and wiser?), to making the tough calls in and out of the show pen, Katy Jo keeps it unapologetically real. We break down her unique business model, the infamous “Tornado Team,” and yes… things get a little dirttttyy.

We also dish on what’s blasting through her speakers, surviving internet trolls, and of course—the class everyone loves to hate—Western Pleasure.

If you thought part one was juicy, this is the spicier sequel you didn’t know you needed. Buckle up, horse girl, it’s going to be a ride. 🐴✨

  • Ep 29- In the Kitchen with Katy Jo (Zuidema), PART 1 of 2

I had the absolute pleasure of sitting at Katy Jo's kitchen table and talking about ALL OF THE THINGS!

I have known of her for years, but honestly, our paths have never crossed enough for me to get to know her better.

We talked for over 4 hours! The amount of knowledge this woman has about the horse industry is insane. She was born into the AQHA world (her parents are trainers as well) and she has also trained horses to win big things at the APHA and ApHC World Shows. So, she has seen a lot, been through a lot of shifts in the show world and her insight is so interesting.

She's candid, honest and PUTS HER HORSES FIRST! You guys know how important that is to me (and so many others!).

Also, she wants you to know- we need to raise our kids better LOL

The One. The ONLY: Rhonda Replogle!!!!

If you've met her, you're lucky to now have her in your life. Because her light and energy will be with you forever. AND how lucky are we to have this unbelievably passionate individual reppin' our stock horse industry.

She is a EXTREMELY well respected judge and she is now advising other judges as well.

This episode takes a deep dive into how she judges a class, what the judges are REALLY looking for, and how we can improve.

Rhonda tells it like it is…and I love that. She served as a Monitor to the Judges at the 2024 AQHA World show and we talk through what she was doing with the judges and what she believes makes a ‘good judge’

My favorite part was when she said, " Present me a pretty movie and I'll present you a pretty prize". HOW AWESOME is that statement!?

    2025/06/30

In this solo episode, I talk about the "Empty Stall"...

Owning horses is FUN, don't get me wrong. But, when things happen to them, it is down right awful. Being that they cannot tell us whats wrong or when they need help, we always have to make the decisions for them. That is one of the hardest things to do as a horse owner.

I have been through many losses in my 25+ years of owning horses. Ive also had MULTIPLE visits to major vet clinics. Most recently, I had to send my best buddy to a clinic for a few days and let me tell you....the barn is quiet. It's eerily uncomfortable without him here.

Take a listen to this episode...its a tough one. But a good one.

Share your thoughts too! I'd love to hear your stories.

I have been showing in the same classes as Sarah for the last few years. I always thought she was a GORG trust fund baby that paid $1mil for her horse and kept it in training...

BOY was I wrong! After getting to know her better last year, she unveiled her story...and she does that during our podcast.

You're going to be surprised as to what is behind that stunning Red Hair.

Shes super smart- A SCIENTIST!!- and has gone through a lot of things that would wipe the smile off your face.

But, not Sarah! She is always smiling and has the most incredible outlook on life and horses.

    Enjoy!

  • Ep 24- The "Karen's" want to buy/sell a Horse, with Jenna Seppa
    2025/05/23

    Send us a text

Selling horses is NOT for the faint of heart...especially ON-LINE!

Jenna Seppa of Seppa's Equine Solutions has been marketing horses online for a little over a year now. She's always been a horse girl, and she currently shows APHA horses with Julie and Allan Schmidt, so she GETS it.

But, I had to find out what it's like dealing with all of the "Karen's" (sorry if you're name is Karen...its not personal) out there. How does she handle the tire kickers?! The crazy owners that think their horse is worth $1 Mil and its not even broke!? What is the market doing!?

I have so many questions ;)

Plus, she's a mom, a wife, and witty AF.

  • Ep 23- The Elephant in the Room...and more. Ellexxah Maxwell.
    2025/05/12

    Send us a text

She owned and successfully showed one of the winningest mares in AQHA history...

Her dad is a judge and trainer...

...plus, he came out a few years ago.

This young lady has some incredible stories to tell!! She has overcome a lot of obstacles to gain the trophies that she has won and it didnt come without tenacity and persistance to be the best.

I have always admired how Ellexxah was different- in such a cool way...she never seemed to care what others had to say in front of her or behind her back. That has seemingly shaped her into an incredible young lady!!

ALSO- we have our first SPONSOR!!!!
