  • An update on major renovations at Brackenridge Park
    2026/09/25

    This week, On The Record with Randy Beamer, we talk with Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones about the budget that will increase city taxes. Jones says city council should have done more cuts, and put the focus on the needs of resident.

    Then, we get an update on the major renovations going on at Brackenridge Park with Brackenridge Park Conservancy CEO Chris Maitre. Hear about the new playscape, and the plans for the iconic Lambert Beach at the park.

    On Reporter’s Roundtable, Scott Huddleston with the San Antonio Express-News discusses his story on a Texas law requiring high schools to register students 18 and over to vote. Many schools are not doing it, although some like Alamo Heights do follow the law and have high registration levels. Overall, in Texas, just about 30-percent of schools participate in student voter registration.
