SUMMER REWIND SERIES: We’re getting closer to the launch of Season 2 but we’ve still got some time to replay some of our old podcast episodes.

This week is a fun one, probably our favorite episode of all time. We reviewed the Hallmark Christmas movie Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater, which set off a very tense discussion about the “ugly Christmas sweater” trend.

But the best part was an epic fact check from a Navy husband who had some nitpicks with USS Christmas. It was shocking to learn Hallmark may have gotten a few things wrong about Navy life, but it was a very educational experience. It will also be very clear that I (Kira) know nothing about military life or titles.

We had so much fun recording this episode and it was fun to go back re-listen. We were just on the cusp of 2021 and adjusting to life in the pandemic era, but as always, we remained faithful to the Christmas spirit.

This episode originally aired on Christmas Eve of 2020, when this show was called A Very Merry Podcast. Back then we would each tell each other about a movie we loved. for this show, we unexpectedly chose the same plot device…time travel.

Amelia gives her thoughts on A Timeless Christmas and I talk about the first and only Christmas STEM movie I’ve ever seen, Christmas Comes Twice. Coincidentally, the latter stars a very recent inductee of JTC, Michael Xavier…otherwise known as Josh from The Jealous Bride.

Our Summer Rewind series continues as we dip into the archives of our first podcast, A Very Merry Podcast.

You may remember we decided it would be a good idea to rebrand as there was already a more established podcast with a similar name. But we did a lot of great work over there, so we decided to share some of those episodes to keep the content rolling for the summer on the free side.

This episode originally aired in December of 2020 and it covered a range of topics including our favorite Hallmark repeat watches, including The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and If I Only Had Christmas. We were audio-only in those days so visuals are limited.

We ended up landing on Lacey Chabert’s A Royal Christmas. It’s a familiar plot (naturally) and one of our favorites. And it made us wonder - do any of these American princess romances ever result in revolution? Listen to find out and don’t forget to upgrade if you haven’t already. We couldn’t end Season One without some season awards.
