このコンテンツについて
Episode 8 of Jett Road Studios Presents is the pilot for GENeration miXed, hosted by Eddie Gorton. The podcast explores what it is like growing up mixed in America. Eddie Gorton is an elementary school principal and stand-up comedian, who is a part of The Loving Generation, a baby boom of mixed-race children born between 1967 and 1980. His father was black, and his mother was white, but he grew up in an all-white household, with little guidance of how to navigate the world as a black male in the Bay Area.
For the pilot, Eddie sits down with Ashley Rouse, who is the Executive Director of the Edible Schoolyard Project at the Alice Waters Institute for Edible Education in Berkeley, CA. Ashley was also born to a black father, and white mother. Ashley also grew up in an all-white household, and had many unanswered questions while growing up in Atlanta, GA. In the fascinating conversation that follows, Eddie and Ashley compare notes on growing up mixed in America, "before looking American was cool."
