Ivanka Trump made her first major public appearance since her father's second term began, stepping back into the national spotlight on May 8, 2025, in Bentonville, Arkansas. During the Heartland Summit, she unveiled her latest initiative focused on expanding access to fresh produce, a cause she has championed for years.
For the first time publicly, the 43-year-old discussed her role as co-founder of Planet Harvest, a Chicago-based "profit-for-purpose" company she established in 2023 with friend Melissa Melshenker Ackerman. During a fireside chat with Arianna Huffington, Ivanka explained how "private-sector solutions and whole-harvest sourcing are helping expand access to fresh food, support farmers, reduce waste and drive lasting impact across communities."
On stage, she emphasized that "Food can be used medicinally and food can be used to heal our bodies. Food can be part of the solution." Hindustan Times reports that her comments appeared directed at Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently pledged to combat processed food and "Make America Healthy Again."
In family news, Ivanka became an aunt again when her younger sister Tiffany Trump and husband Michael Boulos welcomed their first child on May 15. Ivanka congratulated the new parents on Instagram, writing "Welcome to the world sweet Alexander! Congratulations Tiff and Michael on this precious blessing! Love you!" The baby boy, named Alexander Trump Boulos, is President Trump's newest grandchild.
Earlier this month on May 1, Ivanka shared a collection of personal moments on Instagram captioned "A few moments that made April a month to remember," garnering over 219,000 likes. She posted again on May 11 with something described as "305 vibes" and another photo on May 14 tagging fashion brand Cult Gaia.
President Trump, currently visiting the Middle East, mentioned his new grandchild while in Abu Dhabi on Friday, saying "It's been a tremendous time and now it's time to go back home. My daughter had a baby. I'm gonna go back home and see that little baby."
