Although Eurovision is a song contest, we often see some entries focusing more on entertainment and a good show than on good vocals and lyrics. That has led to the term "joke entries" - something that can be a big contrast to what we consider "jury songs". The last few years have shown a difference in the way the public and the jury is voting in ESC - where the public often tend to be bigger fans of the funny entries. But are the funny entries blurring the image of Eurovision being a serious music competition? Or are the entertaining songs on the other hand exactly what we need in times of division and political battles? And is it even possible to make a distinction between "joke entries" and "serious entries"?
In this episode, special guest ESC Factful and our host Maja discuss whether Eurovision is getting too funny, or whether we shouldn't be afraid of the more entertaining entries at Eurovision.
