The show aired from 1997 to 2003, and has remained popular in the years since. Buffy was a groundbreaking show for its time, featuring a female lead character who was not just one of many pretty faces or one of many damsels in distress. The show follows Buffy Summers (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), a high school student chosen by fate to battle evil forces as The Slayer.
