Welcome to Women Investing: Investing Made Simple for European Women the money podcast for women who live anywhere in the European Continent and want to invest but have no idea where to start. Whether you’re in the EU, the UK, Switzerland, or anywhere else in Europe you’re in the right place. We welcome everyone who calls Europe home, including expats and Americans living here!

Investing is only for rich men in suits… right? LOL. Nope. Not here.

Whether you:

- Don’t know what a portfolio is
- Feel intimidated by the word “investing” and by the whole process
- Or secretly worry you’re “just not a money person”…

You’re in the right place.

I’m Francesca Torre and every Monday and Thursday, I break down personal finance, money mindset, and beginner investing in plain English with zero shame, spreadsheets, or stress.

I didn’t grow up knowing any of this.

Even during my early years as an investment banker, I was terrified to invest my own €1,000 despite managing millions for clients.

But that’s when I started. Slowly, awkwardly, imperfectly.

Now? I built a 7-figures portfolio and as the founder of Centsational Women (#1 Investing Academy for Women in Europe) I’ve helped hundreds of European women grow their money with confidence no finance degree (or spreadsheets) required.

If you’ve ever thought:

“I’m too behind…”
“I’m bad with numbers…”
“Investing isn’t for someone like me…”

Press play — and get ready to prove yourself wrong.

We’ll prove you wrong (and you’ll thank us later).

  • 229. Espresso & the Economy: A Good Market Is Hiding How Bad Your Portfolio Really Is
    2026/08/03

    Send us Fan Mail

You check your banking app. Markets are up this week, and so is your number. You feel fine. Maybe even a little proud of yourself.

But fine, in a good market, doesn't tell you what you think it tells you. A rising market can hide a badly built portfolio for years. Nothing looks wrong, because almost everything looks fine when the tide is coming in. The real test only shows up later, when the tide goes out, and by then it's expensive to learn the truth.

In this episode, we explain why that feeling of "fine" can be exactly the moment your portfolio is quietly failing you, and why a good market is the easiest place in the world to miss it. There's a trap a lot of "safe" portfolios fall into without anyone noticing, until the one week it really matters. She names it, and gives you one simple thing you can check today, before the market checks it for you.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • Why a good year in the markets tells you almost nothing about whether your portfolio is actually well built.
    • The trap that quietly catches a lot of "safe" portfolios, and why it stays invisible until the market turns.
    • Why "I feel fine about my money" is the wrong test, and what that feeling actually hides.
    • One simple check you can run today, in five minutes, before the next downturn forces the question on you.
    • Why two portfolios can look identical in a good year and be built completely differently underneath.

  • 228. The Ask: She Got 20% More and Thought She'd Won. He Asked for 50%

She was thrilled with her 20% raise. Then a male colleague mentioned, almost in passing, that he wouldn't take a job for less than 50%.

That's the moment everything cracked open and it's where this episode starts.

Being excellent at your job and being paid for it are two completely different skills. The world only ever trained you in one of them. In this episode, we unpack why competence and compensation come apart for women specifically — the conditioning, the fear of "upsetting the bear," the years of being praised for being easy instead of being paid what you're worth.

    In this episode:

    • Why women are socialized to feel "lucky" instead of underpaid
    • The real reason companies discourage you from discussing salaries
    • Why the same ask lands as "ambitious" for a man and "demanding" for a woman
    • The line that reframes everything: the ask and the invest are the same act

Because a bigger salary is just a bigger number that evaporates by the end of the month, unless you also learn to hold, direct, and grow it.

  • 227. Espresso & the Economy: What Is "Good Debt" — and Why Rich Women Use It on Purpose
    2026/07/27

    Send us Fan Mail

Most of us were handed one flat rule about money as children: debt is bad. Debt is danger. Debt is the thing that ruins people. And for a lot of women, it's wrapped in something heavier than logic — shame, and the quiet belief that owing money means you failed.

So we build our whole financial identity around avoiding it. It feels responsible. But in this Espresso, Francesca gently makes the case that running from debt entirely isn't sophistication — it's fear wearing a nice coat. And it's costing you more than you think.

Debt, on its own, is neither good nor bad. It's a tool — and everything depends on what you do with it.

    In this episode:

    • Why "I don't like owing anyone anything," said like a badge of honour, may be one of the most expensive sentences a woman can carry
    • The difference between good and bad debt
    • Why the loudest voices shouting "it's all going to crash" usually understand debt the least and how to hear them without being shaken
