  • 4: What is inclusive decision making and why it is important?
    2023/11/10
In this episode recorded at the NHS ConfedExpo, Richard Caddy talks to Jess Tyrrell and Rachel Newton, Inclusion Business Partners at the MLCSU Inclusion Unit.
They discuss essential techniques of inclusive decision-making and the things that NHS leaders must consider. From gathering and examining data objectively to involving diverse groups of people in consultations, all this must be considered at the start of each project, be it changes in how healthcare is provided or how we look after our staff.
The focus is on being pragmatic - things will not be perfect for everyone and resources are not limitless. But, inclusive decision-making ensures that we're as close to that as possible, keeping as many people as possible happy and able to access health and care services that are cost-effective and clinically effective.
