    Send us a text

After struggling with addiction for for nearly a decade, Palmer has found sobriety. In this podcast he shares some of his story: the struggles and triumphs. Addiction has been in his family for generations. We talked about how difficult the process of recovery can be. Sometimes this means reaching our lowest points of despair and for our friends and family members to let us go.

Part of Palmer's success came from a nonprofit called Haven House. Now he's working for Haven House as the Director of Outreach and as an Associate Pastor for their church.

  • Suspicious Minds: Why We Believe In Conspiracy Theories
    2021/11/08

    Send us a text

This episode is part of our Incredibly Human Book Club. We discuss the book "Suspicious Minds" by Rob Brotherton.

To be human is to be suspicious. It's normal.

Conspiracies can at times be lighthearted. They can be fun and engaging. But sometimes our suspicion can be dangerous. It can change our views of the world. In this episode we break down why we believe in conspiracy theories, but also how they can negatively impact our lives. Wars, extremists, shootings and bombings are the result of dangerous views of the world. Hitler believed conspiracies about Jews. This is why they can be dangerous if we do not protect ourselves.

Conspiracies are the result of our brains need for clarity and order. We see patterns and look for intentions. But we also have a way of seeing the world in black and white. We look for good guys and bad guys. We see ourselves as heroes in the story.

    2021/02/16

    Send us a text

In this part 2 podcast, we talk about the healing process of chronic illnesses. Chronic illnesses can mostly be healed depending on the person and the situation. Inflammation in the body and an over stimulated immune system are the main factors of symptoms. This happens when our bodies are overwhelmed by toxins, pathogens, stress, nutrient imbalances and a poor diet and lifestyle. If we can approach each of these aspects of our bodies, we can heal from our illnesses.

Dr. David Morcom is a functional medicine practitioner and a doctor of pharmacy. Functional medicine has a different approach than conventional Western medicine. Instead of putting a bandaid on our symptoms, functional medicine addresses the root cause of what's going on in our bodies.
