December 16, 2025 is the 250th birthday of Jane Austen, and we at In Each Retelling are very very very sorry for celebrating this auspicious occasion with a film that fails as a not only an adaptation of her masterpiece, but also fails as an adaptation of the Melissa de la Cruz novel it was also based on, as a romantic comedy, and arguably even as a Hallmark Christmas movie!
