I'm So Not Over It is a comedy history podcast about things you'll remember from the first time round.

Each week comedy writers Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears explore a different month in history – but with a brief stretching from the mid-70s to the present day. Basically, if you could see it, it would be in colour.

It’s politics and pop culture for the eighties, nineties, noughties and beyond, delivered in 20 minute hits because we know what your attention span is like.

So if you remember Westlife but struggle with the Westland affair and if your favourite Aitken was a Tory MP or the one who co-wrote I Should Be So Lucky, we’ve got you covered in this ridiculous historical guide to the information age (even if that information came from a poorly recalled browse of Encarta ‘95).

These weekly episodes are interspersed with interviews with the people who lived through this period to understand whether it has had any bearing on the lives they lead today.

The perfect listen, whether you’re Generation X, Gen X, Xennial, Millennial, Generation Z, Gen Z or whatever Pepsi wants to call you.

I'm So Not Over It is brought to you by the team behind the award nominated Xennial Dome Podcast - Previous guests on that show include Nish Kumar, Jess Philips MP, Trevor & Simon, Isy Suttie and many more and those episodes can be found on the same podcast feed.

(I usually set these to publish at 5am-ish but I'm going for midnight tonight to catch that "can't sleep in this heat" crowd).

Have you been to a sports day this year? And if not, was that because it was too hot or too cold? Can go either way. On today's episode we talk about the era in which sports days did happen - for better or worse. Esyllt recalls her disastrous sports day of July 1990 - and then, like an episode of BBC World Service's Sporting Witness, she returns to the scene - having attended her primary school's 150th anniversary do.

Probably as good a time as any to remind you that Esyllt has another podcast, Speaking As A Mother, with Robin Morgan. Gareth (me) doesn't have another podcast, but would like you to come and see his show Cyril in Edinburgh if you're about and he's (me, still) also doing Work In Progresses on 14 July in Cardiff (although this may have sold out) and one in Bath on 30 July.

Gareth and Esyllt's Scrapbook is available NOW on BBC Sounds! Each episode tackles two years in recent history with archive, music and guests. There are three episodes available now featuring Sunil Patel, Claudine Boulstridge of Healthy Family Food Ideas, Miles Jupp and my (Gareth's) mum. Oh and there's clips appearing on Instagram and TikTok too in which my (Gareth's) face is almost permanently obscured. Check it out!The World Cup, OJ Simpson, Diana's Revenge Dress and all that surrounds it - it turns out June 1994 was a Big Month, but there's plenty of details we'd never come across before. Yes, Diana Ross missed the penalty which was meant to kick-off the 1994 World Cup, but that was probably the least shambolic moment in their wildly chaotic opening ceremony. Similarly, outside the Serpentine Gallery, Lady Diana is pulling focus away from Prince Charles' 2 hour TV documentary, by turning up to dinner in her famous Revenge Dress, but have you ever stopped to wonder who the bloke she shakes hands with is? All will be revealed. The opening ceremony of the 1994 FIFA World Cup is available here. You can find us at imsonotoverit@gmail.com or one of the following...BlueSky: @imsonotoveritInstagram: @imsonotoveritTikTok: @imsonotoveritOther ProjectsProbably as good a time as any to remind you that Esyllt has another podcast, Speaking As A Mother, with Robin Morgan.
