Caleb Flynn looked at the family of the woman he was convicted of killing and said God is his judge. Former thirty-year pastor Timmy Gibson heard that and recognized doctrine, not defiance. On Homicide Happy Hour, Gibson explained the theology. The Bible teaches that your primary debt after wrongdoing is to God, not to the person you harmed. God forgives. God forgets. The humans left with the damage don't get that deal. Gibson says when your accountability only runs upward, the people around you become disposable. Flynn was convicted on all nine counts in Ashley's murder in Tipp City, Ohio, and sentenced to life without parole. Tony raised the lost laptop and phone belonging to Flynn's mistress, Alleigha Botner. Gibson believes Botner thought she was preparing for a custody fight, not a murder cover-up. She was young, raised in the faith, and believed Flynn was leaving his wife. Gibson says Flynn will never confess because the same mental architecture that justified the affair now justifies the silence.
