Realtak: What's chasing you right now that you keep pretending isn't there? 🎯
On today's Making Moves Monday episode of the Suite Spot, Dr. Derek Suite kicks off a week that's going to change how you deal with the obstacles trying to take you down. Whether it's that external challenge you've been dodging or those internal demons like fear, doubt, and comparison, today is the day you stop running.
Here's what your brain does when it encounters something unclear or ambiguous: it freezes. Neuroscientists call this the "ambiguity effect." Your brain literally can't take action when it doesn't understand what it's dealing with. That's why the first move isn't attacking the problem. It's identifying it. Calling it out. Looking it dead in the face.
Think about David and Goliath for a second. Before David picked up that stone, he had clarity. He knew exactly what he was facing. He named the giant. He identified the challenge. He focused on what winning would mean. That clarity was his secret weapon.
Tony Evans puts it like this: "God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you need." Same goes for your challenges. The giant in front of you isn't random. It's revealing something you need to overcome to become who you're meant to be.
Malcolm Gladwell paraphrased it beautifully: "The giant in front of you is never bigger than the God within you." Your ability to face any obstacle doesn't start with the size of the problem. It starts with the scale of your belief.
Here's where it gets real: some giants are obvious. The job. The relationship. The financial situation. But some giants? They're internal. Doubt. Fear. Bad habits. Self-sabotage. Those are the ones that will chase you forever if you don't turn around and face them.
Nipsey Hussle said, "The highest human act is to inspire." But you can't inspire anybody, including yourself, if you're still running from what's hunting you down. 💪
So here's today's move: take three minutes. Sit with it. Name your giant. What is it stealing from you? What is it trying to prevent you from becoming? Write it down. Say it out loud. Stop letting it live in the shadows.
When you define what you're fighting, your brain shifts from paralysis to purpose. That's not just motivation. That's neuroscience.
AFFIRMATION: I see what's in front of me clearly. I call out my obstacles without fear. I am ready to face what I've been avoiding, and I will win.
STAY AMAZING!!!
This is just day one. If you're ready to stop running, share this with someone who needs to hear it. And subscribe to The Suite Spot because tomorrow we're talking about why you can't fight wearing someone else's armor. 🎧
