Helping everyday women become faithful and engaging Bible Teachers.

At Teach Equip we believe faithfulness is better than followers! We help women be faithful Bible teachers by platforming issues teachers face like how to teach when you feel insufficient, avoiding being Biblical-ish and why teaching in your local church matters. This podcast isn’t just for people who teach the Bible in a formal setting somewhere; it’s for anyone who loves God’s word, wants to communicate the Bible clearly and desires to grow in sharing it with others. It offers practical tools for preparation and delivery and honest conversation about the harder parts of teaching.

Kelly Needham is an author and speaker, but really a coach at heart. Her passion is to support local churches and see women mobilized for the benefit of their community. Lindsay Schott is an author, artist and women’s ministry leader. She loves helping other women find their teaching strengths and demystifying the teaching process. On this podcast you’ll hear from both Kelly and Lindsay on a variety of teaching topics as they share their experiences and friendship of over a decade.

  • Complementarianism, Women, and the Church
    2025/08/01

In this episode, we're diving into a big (and often misunderstood) word: complementarianism. Yes, it’s a mouthful—and no, our computers don’t recognize it either. 😂 But it’s an important topic worth talking about, especially for anyone thinking about the role of women in ministry and leadership.

    We talk candidly about:

    • What complementarianism means (and how it differs from egalitarianism)
    • Why we believe it’s a second-tier issue among faithful, orthodox Christians
    • The theological convictions that led us to build a Bible teaching program for women—while still holding complementarian views
    • Why we believe the gift of teaching is not a gendered gift
    • All the ways teaching is already happening in churches (even if it’s not from the pulpit on a Sunday)
    • How we hope to see more healthy partnership between men and women in the Church—no matter where you land on the spectrum

    If you’ve ever wondered:

“Can a woman teach the Bible in a church if she’s not a pastor?”

“How does complementarian theology practically play out in local church life?”

“What does it look like to hold to biblical convictions and still empower women to lead and teach?”

…then pull up a seat and join the conversation.

The goal of this conversation? To offer a gracious, grounded, and biblically faithful approach to a topic that touches many lives, and to champion more partnership—not more division—in the church.

🚩 Important note on this episode: Teach Equip was developed by complementarians, but the program is designed for anyone who desires to grow in the gift of teaching God’s Word

  • Teaching, Friendship, and the Fight for Faithfulness
    2025/08/01

In this episode, Lindsay and Kelly take a step back and share the unexpected friendship that helped spark Teach Equip and how that friendship revealed the beautiful and sometimes uncomfortable work God was doing in each of their lives.

They reflect on what it looked like to discover their shared love for God’s Word, how their friendship helped shape their callings as Bible teachers, and how their wildly different paths taught them the same core lesson: faithfulness is greater than followers.

Whether you're confident on a stage or still whispering your “yes” to God behind the scenes, this one is for you. It’s about motives, comparison, hidden seasons, unexpected platforms, and choosing obedience over outcomes.

In this episode, you’ll hear about:

    • What to do when God says “no” (and how that can be grace)
    • The temptation of hiding behind false humility
    • The danger of finding identity in a platform
    • Why our most powerful teaching tool is a transformed life
    • What it means to revere the Word, not the audience

  • Local Teaching is the Best Teaching
    2025/08/01

We’re kicking off the very first episode of the Teach Equip Podcast and you’re invited into a conversation that’s been over a decade in the making!

Hosted by Lindsay Schott and Kelly Needham, co-founders of Teach Equip, this episode lays the foundation for why local Bible teaching really matters

Why did we start Teach Equip? Why are we so passionate about equipping everyday people—especially women—to handle God’s Word? And what’s at risk when we think the gift of teaching is just for big platforms and not for the local church?

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Are all those Bible teachers at conferences and online more anointed? Or do they just have more practice?
    • Why is it important to be taught the Bible by someone you know?
    • What are the dangers of all Bible teaching happening outside the walls of the local church?
    • What do I do if I want to be trained and teach in my church but my church doesn't have anything for me?

This one’s for anyone who loves the Bible, feels called to teach it, and wonders, What now?
