Hosted by Captains Barlow and Andrew, this series takes you beyond the surface of Raglan’s waters to explore the history, culture, wildlife, and people that make this small West Coast town so special. Raglan Boat Charters is a family-run business built on authenticity, hospitality, and a deep connection to the harbour. Through our two very different vessels — the relaxed Wahinemoe and the adventurous Wakahuia — we offer unique ways to experience Raglan by sea. Wahinemoe (meaning “Sleeping Lady” in te reo Māori) is our spacious harbour cruise boat, a place for rest, food, and good company. She is the floating heart of Raglan’s social life, hosting everything from sunset fish & chip cruises to weddings, birthdays, and live music nights. Step aboard Wahinemoe and discover the harbour at a slower pace, surrounded by laughter, good food, and unforgettable sunsets. Wakahuia (meaning “treasure box”) is our fast amphibious RIB, built for adventure. Once used to deliver groceries along the Coromandel coastline, she now takes guests on thrilling coastal trips, beach landings, and explorations of Raglan’s rugged cliffs and surf breaks. With Wakahuia, adventure is never far away — she’s our treasure chest of excitement and discovery. Across the episodes, you’ll hear: The personal journeys of Captain Barlow, a lifelong seaman and kaitiaki of the harbour, and Andrew, the owner of Raglan Boat Charters. Insights into Māori heritage and storytelling, woven into each journey across the harbour. The wildlife of Raglan — from seabirds to stingrays, seals, and even visiting orca. Local stories of community, sustainability, and life on the water. What it’s like to host visitors from New Zealand and around the world on our charters.
